DA NANG, VIETNAM, December 11, 2022 – The second flight of the APT Da Nang Vietnam VSOP 2022 Main Event – partnered with the Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP) – is in the books, with reigning APT Korea Incheon 2022 Main Event Champion Farhad Aghayev climbing to the top of the chip counts.

Playing out in the ballroom of the five-star Risemount Premier Resort, Day 1B saw 79 players (66 unique) ante-up the ₫9,000,000+900,000 entry fee and fight it out at the felt over eight 60-minute levels.

Aghayev, who earned over ₩170M ($119,134) back in October after taking down his first major title, won a monster three-way all-in at the start of level six to power into pole position, and did not look back, concluding play with a stack of 145,400.

Thailand's Sukhum Kiwanont was the next most successful player, bagging up a stack of 138,400, with Russia's Anton Efimov rounding out the top three.

A total of 33 players survived the tournament maelstrom, with the top ten stacks as follows:

Other notables to make the cut included Mystery Bounty runner-up Joris Michl (43,500), India's Akshay Kapoor (39,300), and Abhishek Paul (38,700), South Korea's Jason Jae Wook Shin (37,400), and tournament short-stack Remi Florent (6,200).

The 33 Day 1B survivors will join with the 34 Day 1A survivors when Day 2 gets underway at 12pm (GMT+7) on Tuesday, December 13.

The third and final Day 1C flight kicks off at 12pm (GMT+7) on Monday, December 12.

Hiu Man Ng Wins High Roller Single Day After 3-Way Deal

The third of the APT Da Nang's High Roller events – the ₫9,000,000+900,000 Event #11 High Roller Single Day drew a total of 30 players (22 unique), generating a ₫1,455,000,000 (~$61,110) prize pool.

The tournament's top five places paid out, with Hong Kong's Hiu Man Ng claiming his second APT High Roller title, his first coming back in October at the APT Korea Incheon.

Hiu claimed his second title after the final three players cut an ICM deal, with the Hong Konger taking away a ₫404,533,420 (~$16,990) top prize, in addition to the trophy and title.

Vietnam's Phan Minh Duc locked up ₫402,388,230 ($16,900) for second, with fellow countryman Dinh Tien Thanh awarded ₫398,028,360 ($16,715) for third.

Singapore's Benjamin Sai made his second final table appearance of the series, collecting ₫147,090,000 for fourth place, with Nguyen Nang Quang the only other player to make the money.

Mongolia's Janag Battulga Wins High Rollers 6 Max Hyper

The last event of the day to conclude was the ₫40,000,000+4,000,000 High Rollers 6 Max Hyper, playing out in the early hours of Monday morning.

This saw 11 high-rolling entries (9 unique) battling it out for a ₫426,800,000 (~$17,925) prize pool.

It was Mongolia's Janag Battulga who emerged victorious.

Battulga narrowly pipped the USA's Dan Nover for the win after both players flopped trip sevens, with Battulga's kicker earning him the ₫196,800,000 (~$8,265) top prize and his fourth APT title after the final three players cut a deal.

Nover took ₫180,000,000 (~$7,560) for his runner-up finish, with Vietnam's Vu Minh Hai making ₫50,000,000 for third after the trio chose to pay out the bubble position.

Vietnam's Duc Trung Vu Wins Event #10 Deep Stack Hyper Turbo

Proving a popular draw with the players, the ₫4,000,000+400,000 Event #10 Deep Stack Hyper Turbo saw 113 entries (80 unique), generating a ₫438,440,000 (~$18,415) prize pool, with the event concluding in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It was Vietnam's Duc Trung Vu the man to take it down, defeating fellow countryman Huynh Ngoc Thai heads-up to claim the ₫110,380,000 (~$4,635) top prize – winning his maiden APT title in the process.

Thai received ₫73,570,000 for his runner-up finish, with a total of 19 players making the hallowed money spots, and the official eight-handed final table paying out as follows:
