DA NANG, VIETNAM, December 8, 2022– Welcome to the APT Da Nang Vietnam VSOP 2022 – partnered with the Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP) – for the eleventh and final live Asian Poker Tour event of 2022, with the five-star Risemount Premier Resort playing host to the 10-day, 36-event series.

This marks the first time in the Asian Poker Tour's fourteen year history that Da Nang has played host to Asia's most prestigious poker tour, and hopefully it will be the first of many events to come.

Running December 8-18 the APT Da Nang Vietnam VSOP 2022 boasts ₫20BN (~$840,000) in tournament guarantees, with highlights including:

  • Mystery Bounty: Dec 8-9, 2022 – ₫9,000,000+900,000 (~$415) buy-in – ₫2BN (~$84,000) GTD
  • Main Event: Dec 10-15, 2022 – ₫30,000,000+3,000,000 (~$1,385) buy-in –₫10BN ($420,000) GTD
  • High Roller: Dec 14-17, 2022 – ₫60,000,000+5,000,000 (~$2,730) buy-in – ₫6BN (~$252,000) GTD
  • Monster Stack: Dec 17-18, 2022 – ₫15,000,000+1,500,000 (~$690) buy-in – ₫2BN (~$84,000) GTD
  • APT Poolside Players Party: Dec 15 @ 8pm local time (GMT+7) – held poolside at the Risemount Premier Resort

Mystery Bounty Draws 241 Entries; Vietnam's Dinh Van Tien Leads

Boasting a ₫2BN ($84,000) guarantee, it was the ₫9,000,000+900,000 ($415) Event #1 Mystery Bounty kick-starting the series action at 12pm (GMT+7), with the opening flight drawing 141 entries (99 unique).

Running concurrently, with a slightly later start time of 4pm, Day 1B saw a further 100 players (78 unique) enter the fray, bringing the total number of entries up to 241.

With a ₫2,103,930,000 (~$88,365) prize pool up for grabs – including ₫723,000,000 in bounties – competition for a place in Day 2 was fierce.

A total of 25 players will make the hallowed money spots, with a min-cash good for ₫11,680,000 (~$490).

However, it is the ₫334,660,000 (~$14,055) top prize all will have their eye on.

A total of 36 players from Day 1A made the Day 2 cut, with Vietnam's Dinh Van Tien the man to bag biggest, finishing strong with a stack of 286,000 after the fifteen 30-minute levels concluded.

Tien will be returning for Day 2 in pole position with the overall chip lead, with the Netherland's Joris Michl (209,500) and Vietnam's Nguyen Tuong Linh (196,000) rounding out the top three Day 1A stacks, with the top ten as follows:

Other notables to make it through included Malaysia's Raiden Kan (76,000), World Series bracelet winner Aditya Sushant (60,000), and India's Akshay Kapoor (46,500).

Day 1 B Chipleader - Abishek Paul.jpg

It was India's Abishek Paul the man to top the Day 1B counts, bagging up a stack of 228,000, which puts him second in the overall pecking order coming into Day 2.

Vietnam's Vo Dinh Cuong (170,500), and South Korea's Jeong Injae (146,500) rounded out the Day 1B podium.

A total of 29 players were successful in their quest to make Day 2, with the top ten stacks as follows:

Other notable to earn a Day 2 spot included Singapore's Benjamin Sai (78,000), the USA's Peter Kiem (65,000), and Hong Kong's Chun Lee, the latter of whom will be returning with the shortest stack of 16,000.

The 65 respective Day 1 survivors will return for Day 2, which gets underway at 12pm local time (GMT+7) on Friday, December 9 and the tournament will play down to a champion.
