HANOI, VIETNAM, February 3, 2023 – Welcome to the APT Hanoi Vietnam VSOP 2023 – partnered with the Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP) and sponsored by Natural8 – for the first Asian Poker Tour (APT) event of 2023, with the VSOP Club playing host to the 10-day, 38-event series.
This will be the third time the APT has visited the Vietnamese capital, with the last visit resulting in a record-breaking Main Event field.
Expectations are high for another great turnout, with the opening event – the APT Kickoff – smashing the ₫1.5BN (~$64,500) guarantee on the opening flight.
Running February 3-12 the APT Hanoi Vietnam VSOP 2023 boasts ₫20BN (~$860,000) in tournament guarantees, with highlights including:
- APT Kickoff: Feb 3-4, 2023 – ₫1.5BN (~$64,500) GTD
- Mystery Bounty Hunter: Feb 4-5, 2023 – ₫1.5BN (~$64,500) GTD

Vietnam's Phan Minh Duc Leads APT Hanoi Kickoff Day 1A
Vietnam's Phan Minh Duc topped the Day 1A counts to return with the Day 2 chip lead
It was the ₫8,000,000+800,000 (~$345) Event #1 APT Kickoff kickstarting the series action at 11am (GMT+7), with Day 1A drawing 242 entries (171 unique).
With the ₫1.5BN (~$64,500) guarantee reached and breached on the opening flight, Day 1B played concurrently with a slightly later start time of 4pm.
This saw a further 210 players (157 unique) enter the fray, with all 23 of the VSOP Club's tournament tables in action.
This brought the total number of entries up to 452, ballooning the prize pool to ₫3,507,520,000 (~$147,315).
All respective Day 1 survivors are guaranteed a share of the prize pool, with a min-cash good for ₫15,210,000 (~$639).
However, it is the ₫683,330,000 (~$28,700) top prize all will have their eye on.

With the top 15 percent of the field from each respective starting flight making Day 2 and the money, a total of 30 players made the cut from Day 1A, with a further 31 making in through from Day 1B.
Those 61 players will return for the second and final day, which plays out at 11am on Saturday, February 4.
The man leading the charge is Vietnam's Phan Minh Duc, who topped the Day 1A counts with a stack of 1,060,000.
Duc will be returning for Day 2 with the overall chip lead, with China's Xiaohua Fu bagging the second largest stack of 925,000 putting him second in the overall pecking order.
Russia's German Bukharov (767,000) rounds out the top three, with the top ten Day 1A stacks as follows:

The Philippines David Erquiaga topped the Day 1B chip counts
It was the Philippines David Erquiaga the man to top the Day 1B counts, bagging up a stack of 710,000 which puts him fourth in the overall pecking order coming into Day 2, with the top ten Day 1B stacks as follows:

Germany's Martin Finger Wins Single Day High Roller
Martin Finger added a maiden APT title to his impressive list of poker accolades
While the Kickoff was the first event to get underway, the first silverware of the series was awarded in the ₫40,000,000+4,000,000 Event #2 Single Day High Roller.
It was Martin Finger the man to claim the lion's share of the ₫388,000,000 (~$16,685) prize pool.
The German player triumphed over the 10-strong field (7 unique) to take the ₫186,240,000 (~$8,008) top prize, defeating Vietnam's Tran Huy Hoang heads-up.
Finger – who boasts a slew of live tournament titles and over $7.8 million in live tournament winnings – claimed his maiden APT title, while Hoang earned ₫124,160,000 (~$5,339) for his runner-up finish.
The UK's Dexter Turnbull– 3rd for ₫77,600,000 (~$3,259) – was the only other player to make the money.

Lithuania's Karolis Cekauskas Claims APT's First-ever Omaholic Trophy
Lithuania's Karolis Cekauskas claimed his maiden APT title on the tour's first-ever Omaholic event
A brand new addition to the APT for the 2023 season, the ₫4,000,000+400,000 Event #4 Omaholic (PL Pre/NL Omaha High) – Hyper Turbo saw 21 players (17 unique) hit the felt, generating a ₫81,480,000 (~$3,422) prize pool.
It was Lithuania's Karolis Cekauskas the man to emerge victorious and claim the first-ever Omaholic trophy after twenty 10-minute levels.
Cekauskas defeated China's Xixiang Luo heads-up to take the ₫34,220,000 (~$1,437) top prize, claiming his first live poker title and maiden APT title in the process.
Luo earned ₫22,810,000 (~$958) for his runner-up finish. A total of four players made the money, with the tournament paying out as follows:
