TAIPEI, TAIWAN, May 2, 2026– The festival has arrived on Day 11, and players have only two more days to try and win trophies before the Tour says goodbye to Taipei.

First off, the Main Event has concluded and found a champion. Congratulations Walter Lau from Hong Kong! This is his first major tournament poker victory, making a score that more than quintuples his total lifetime earnings. While this is the final weekend, there is still plenty of action to be had, such as the two-day Ultra Stack event that awards a seat to the APT Championship 2026 Main Event to the winner. The Ultra Stack has recently become a crowd favourite at every tour in recent times, so expect a huge field of competitors. In addition, the Labour Day Monster Stack played out its final flights today. How many entries did three days of starting flights gather? Find out below.


Mini Main Event Crowns Champion; Two-Day Ultra Stack Begins; Labour Day Monster Stacks Moves to Final Day

Starting off a busy day of poker is the results of the Mini Main Event. The event built a prize pool of TWD 39,968,640 (~USD 1,276,950) from a total of 1,542 entries, surpassing the TWD 25 million guarantee.

South Korea’s Seunghyuk Jung captured his first APT title along with TWD 6,988,540 (USD 223,276). Entering the event on the cusp of USD 400,000 in live tournament earnings, Jung not only surpassed that milestone but did so emphatically, recording the biggest score of his career. The victory also secures him a seat in the APT Championship Main Event, where he will look to carry this momentum onto the Tour’s biggest stage.

Fellow South Korean Jintae Yang delivered a strong performance to finish runner-up, earning TWD 3,943,400 (USD 125,987), while Hong Kong’s Ka Yu Yeung rounded out the podium with TWD 2,779,600 (USD 88,805) for third place.

Meanwhile, Event #146: Ultra Stack continues to cement its place as one of the most popular tournaments on the APT schedule, with participation steadily rising across recent stops. At APT Taipei 2026, the two-day event has drawn 732 entries, with 103 survivors advancing to the Final Day to compete for a prize pool of TWD 12,912,480 (~USD 412,539), with TWD 2,388,180 (~USD 76,300) up top.

In addition to the prize money, the eventual champion will also secure a coveted seat into the APT Championship Main Event, adding further stakes to an already compelling contest. All returning players are guaranteed a minimum cash of TWD 34,000 (~USD 1,086).

Flight A saw Japan’s Kazuo Yamamoto emerge as chip leader, bagging 1,858,000 chips to top the counts. Close behind is Taiwan’s Sheng Wei Wu with 1,711,000, while China’s Cheng Wu completes the top three with 1,472,000 chips, setting the pace for a highly competitive field heading into the Final Day.

In Flight B, South Korea’s Min Chul Lee leads the way with 1,465,000 chips, followed closely by Japan’s Akihiro Yamada with 1,430,000. Burma’s Zin Myo Thant rounds out the top three stacks with 1,340,000 chips, positioning himself well for a deep run as the event progresses.

Flight C is topped by the Philippines’ Christopher Mateo with 1,340,000 chips, continuing his strong run this series. He is followed by the United States’ Grant Wang with 1,170,000 chips, while Canada’s Tianhua Xie completes the top three stacks with 1,020,000 chips.

Event #171: Labour Day Monster Stack drew a massive 2,135 entries, building a prize pool of TWD 6,000,000 (~USD 191,693). From that field, 109 players have advanced to the Final Day, all now in the money and battling for one of the festival’s most sought-after titles.

Leading the charge is Taiwan’s Lin Jyun Li, who bagged a tournament-best 1,715,000 chips to secure the overall chip lead heading into the final stage. Close behind is fellow local Wu Shan En with 1,696,000 chips, while Ma Yu Hsiang completes an all-Taiwanese top three with 1,635,000 chips, setting the tone for a strong local presence at the top of the leaderboard.

Event #143: Hyper Turbo – PL Omaha High – 5 Card – Noah’s Ark – 2x2x2 brought one of the more unique formats of the series, as players battled it out in a variant of Pot-Limit Omaha featuring five hole cards and two community cards dealt on each street.

Emerging on top was Ray Chiu, former APT Floor Manager, who sailed to victory to claim his second Lion trophy of the series along with TWD 122,614 (USD 3,917). Much like the pairs that boarded Noah’s Ark, Chiu now walks away with a perfect pair of Lions in Taipei, adding another memorable chapter to his growing APT résumé. The win also brings him closer to the USD 300,000 mark in live tournament earnings, while marking his fourth APT title overall.

Taiwan’s Ju Yin Yeh delivered a standout performance to secure second place, recording his best career score in the process and earning TWD 84,800 (USD 2,709). Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s Pat Tao Leung picked up his third cash overall in the APT with a third-place finish for TWD 54,100 (USD 1,728).
