Dajie Zhuo
With the opening event of the APT Jeju 2025 festival setting a new Korean poker record, the second event on the schedule also did not disappoint.
Day 2 of the series opened with another gem with the APT Super High Roller offering one of the juiciest prizes of festival – awarding one of seven coveted seats to the APT Championship Main Event worth KRW 14M (USD 10,000).
The tournament attracted it's largest-ever Korean-based field to set a new tour record for the country, drawing a total of 97 entries (65 unique), making it the fourth-largest iteration of the tournament ever to play out.
Of course, apart from that bonus award, the main focus of the players was on the lion's share of KRW 348,252,500 (~USD 246,990) prize pool accrued.
Only 13 places will earn a piece of the payout pie with a few more eliminations left on Day 2 before the bubble bursts.
A total of 22 players successfully fought their way through to the Final Day, with China's Dajie Zhuo returning as the chip leader with the Pewter Lion APT Super high Roller trophy in his sights.
Zhou concluded the sixteen 40-minute Day 1 levels played with 2,450,000 chips. Next in line is compatriot Mingcong Chen who is breathing down Zhou's neck with 2,315,000.
Rounding out the top three and the only other player to bag over 2M in chips was the Czech Republic's Roman Hrabec, who concluded play with a stack of 2,265,000.
Some notables who also made the cut include Hong Kong's Biao Ding (1,535,000), Natural8 Ambassador Nevan Chang (1,230,000), Germany's Fabian Schmidt (910,000), Hong Kong's Hon Cheong "Ivan" Lee (535,000) and APT All-Time Money List #1 Joseph Cheong (365,000), although the latter will be returning as the shortest stack.
