William Teoh

William Teoh is the Day 1 chip leader of the PHP 600,000 (~USD $10,300) APT High Roller. The Malaysian player won a massive pot against second-in-chips John Matsuda late in Day 1, putting him in a great starting position for Day 2.

A total of 59 entries (42 unique) led to a total prize pool standing at a mouth-watering PHP 32,621,100 (~USD $545,560) and the eventual winner taking home a PHP 9,785,100 (~USD $166,350) top prize.

Teoh accumulated a total of 3,550,000 in chips over the sixteen 40-minute levels played. A fourth place in this tournament would mean a new career-high score for him. He achieved his best score at the 2022 APT Manila Championship which he finished in second for PHP 2,797,700.

Vincent Huang

Second in chips with 1,770,000 finished the New Zeeland professional Vincent Huang. Throughout the day he could be seen chipping up nicely, never losing any huge pots. Closely following him comes seasoned pro Paulius Plausinaitis with 1,390,000. Other notable names making it to Day 2 include Jordan Westmorland (1,245,000), Nevan Chang (1,070,000), Thomas Ward (1,030,000), and Daniel Neilson (765,000).

Out of the 12 remaining players, only eight will make it to the money, but all eyes will be on the glorious Pewter Lion Trophy. It will definitely be an action-packed day, which can be followed either on the live blog or via the live stream.

Joonhee Yea

With the final six hands of the day being played Joonhee Yea opened from the button and got put all-in by Daniel Neilson in the big-blind for his 20 big blinds. Yea called and his tournament life on the risk.

The flop of Q 5 2 gave hope to both players and the 7 made it even more interesting. But the river 6 will let Yea sleep well tonight.

Jordan Westmorland raised to 50,000 from under the gun, and Toan Truong called from the big blind.

Truong checked the action to Westmorland as the flop rolled off 5 Q 4 , and Westmorland bet 35,000. Truong called.

Both checked through the 8 turn to see the J land on the river, where Truong bet 50,000 and received a call from his opponent. Truong tabled a rivered pair of jacks with A J , making Westmorland muck his hand.

Alexander Keating

After Jordan Westmorland took most of Alexander Keating's chips a couple of levels earlier, did he just take the rest of his stack. John Matsuda opened from early-position and Westmorland three-bet from the button. Next to him, Keating jammed all-in for around 20 big blinds. Westmorland quickly called.

The board ran out 9 8 5 4 2 , busting Keating in the last level of the day.

On the flop of 3 A 7 , there were around 170,000 chips in the pot when Alexander Keating from under the gun checked to William Teoh, who bet 55,000. Keating dropped in the call.

A 7 hit on the turn, where Keating check-called again after Teoh bet 75,000 to see the T fall on the river. Keating kept his strategy and checked over, then Teoh fired out 180,000 this time, sending Keating in the tank. Eventually, Keating dropped in a call.

Unfortunately for Keating, Teoh tabled a rivered flush with K Q , leaving him no hope to scoop the pot.

Jordan Westmorland raised to 50,000 from under the gun and Toan Truong called from the big blind.

On the 4 6 2 flop, Truong bet 45,000 and Westmorland made the call to see the 2 turn, which both checked through.

A 9 dropped on the river, where Truong fired 180,000 and delivered the pressure to Westmorland. After a while, Westmorland mucked his hand.

Nevan Chang opened to 32,000 on the button, and Daniel Neilson re-raised to 475,000. Chang shoved all in, which Neilson called of his last few chips.

The board swiftly came 9 8 9 J 7 favoring Neilson, who evened out Chang’s stack when the tournament entered the last two levels.

Tobias Topic

The German DJ Topic has been eliminated after he pushed his remaining 120,000 from the big blind against Alexander Keating's open and William Teoh's flat call. Keating isolated Topic by jamming himself, giving Topic a good chance to double up.

The flop A J 5 came out great for Topic, but unfortunately, the J on the turn eliminated him shortly before the end of Day 1.

With around 100,000 chips in the middle, the board showed 7 4 7 A Q . Renji Mao bet 75,000 from the cutoff before Nevan Chang check-called from the big blind.

Mao turned over A T for turned two pair, making Chang throw his cards back to the dealer without showing.
