INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA, August 8, 2026 – Running August 7–16 in partnership with Paradise Group, Day 2 of APT Incheon 2026 (#APTIncheon2026) featured ten action-packed tournaments, all playing out at the palatial Paradise City Casino Resort.

Headlining the schedule were two signature side events: the exciting finale of the Korea National Cup, and the three opening flights of the KRW 300 million (~USD 212,000) guaranteed Mystery Bounty Hunter – Sponsored by Natural8.

Maiden Cash, Maiden Title: Japan’s Tomoya Tsubouchi Conquers Tour-Stop Record Korea National Cup

In a landmark performance at Paradise City, Japan’s Tomoya Tsubouchi claimed his inaugural live tournament title and first recorded career cash in the APT Incheon 2026 Korea National Cup.

Tsubouchi outlasted a 709-entry field from 28 different nations—the largest the tour has ever run in an opening Incheon event—to earn his maiden tournament trophy and claim the lion’s share of the KRW 409,459,411 (~USD 290,400) prize pool.

Making the victory all the more remarkable, Tsubouchi didn't even need a heads-up match to seal it. He knocked out runner-up Phuong Ngoc Nguyen and third-place finisher Ian Rudolph in a single hand to secure the trophy and the KRW 78,109,411 (~USD 55,400) top prize.

“More than the money, winning and taking home the trophy is what really means the most to me,” an ecstatic Tsubouchi stated via the aid of a translator immediately following his win.

“Of course, having the prize money is great too! Thanks to that, I came here with a group of six friends including myself, and I'm really looking forward to celebrating and partying with them tonight! I can't wait!”

While Tsubouchi has won online poker tournaments previously, this was only the second time the Japanese recreational player has competed in an international tournament outside of his home country.

“I already loved poker, but this experience has made me fall completely in love with it even more. This trophy is just my first step, and from here on, I want to keep building on this success and enjoy poker even more in the future.”

Austria’s Nguyen banked a KRW 47,710,000 (~USD 33,835) payout for his runner-up finish, while the USA’s Rudolph also secured a career-best score after earning a KRW 34,090,000 (~USD 24,180) windfall for his third-place finish.

All 101 returning players were guaranteed a KRW 1,110,000 (~USD 790) payout. Flight A frontrunner Jeerasak Khumchanthuek (10th), and APT Manila Classic 2025 Main Event champion Ivan Govorov (11th) came agonisingly close to making the final table, with the latter coming up just short of a shot at a second career APT title.

Other notables to cash included Flight C chip leader Yutao Zheng (15th), APT Manila Classic Main Event finalist Alexander Ugay (22nd), the USA’s Frank Zhang (28th), Natural8 Ambassador Hua Wei Lin (51st), and WSOP bracelet winners Alen Bakovic (55th), and Maxim Lykov (82nd).

Hong Kong’s Alex Ip Tops 868-Entry Mystery Bounty Hunter – Sponsored by Natural8

Alex Ip is hunting his maiden live tournament title in the Mystery Bounty Hunter

The most popular attraction of the day was the KRW 900,000 (~USD 640) buy-in Mystery Bounty Hunter – Sponsored by Natural8, with the tournament drawing a 868 entry field (497 uniques) from 32 different nations over the three starting flights.

The KRW 300 million (~USD 212,000) guarantee was exceeded midway through the second flight, with the total prize pool standing at KRW 395,808,000 (~USD 284,140), with a further KRW 260,400,000 (~USD 186,935) in the bounty pool.

All survivors are guaranteed a payout of at least KRW 840,000 (~USD 600), with the biggest bounty coming in at an enticing KRW 30,900,000 (~USD 22,180).

With the top 14 percent of each flight making the Final Day and the paying positions, just 122 players remain in contention for the KRW 74,738,000 (~USD 53,650) top prize – the largest the tour has ever awarded in Incheon.

Flight A

Japan’s Kazuki Miyamoto topped the chip counts of the opening Flight A

The opening Flight A saw 360 entries compete over twenty 25-minute levels, with 51 players making the cut for the Final Day.

It was Japan’s Kazuki Miyamoto summiting the initial flight’s leaderboard, concluding the action with a stack of 826,000 – over 18 big blinds more than next closest rival and compatriot Nishikido Nobuhiro who finished with 532,000.

The top three spots were all occupied by players hailing from the Land of the Rising Sun, with Tomoya Hasegawa rounding out the podium with a stack of 479,000.

Flight B

Despite the field composition skewing heavily towards Japan, it is Hong Kong’s Alex Ip who will be returning with the overall chip lead after topping the 325-entry Flight B with a stack of 923,000.

Ip bagged up 17 big blinds more than next closest rival Inui Kanta of Japan, who will be returning 3rd in the overall counts with a stack of 648,000.

China’s Tianyi Ma concluded the twenty-two 20-minute levels played with 531,000 in chips, with 46 players successfully making their way through to the Final Day.

Flight C

Germany’s Daniel Smiljkovic bagged the biggest stack of Flight C

The third and final Flight C saw 183 entries battle it out at the baize over twenty fast-paced 15-minute levels with a double elimination concluding the action and 25 players making it through to the Final Day.

It was Germany’s Daniel Smiljkovic topping the counts of the final flight, bagging up 571,000 in chips to put him 4th in the pecking order coming into the Final Day.

Thailand’s Siwat Pattanaputisak (511,000) was the only other player to bag over half a million in chips, with Japan’s Takehiro Sato (432,000) rounding out the top three Flight C stacks.
