Day 5 of APT Taipei 2026 saw multiple champions crowned across headline events, led by the conclusion of the APT Super High Roller. After two days of elite-level competition, the prestigious Pewter Mega Lion trophy found its new owner, with Mike Takayama from the Philippines emerging victorious to claim the title and a top prize of TWD 9,760,160 (~USD 312,825). He also becomes the first Mega Lion winner from the Pearl of the Orient.

The popular Mystery Bounty Hunter – Sponsored by Natural8 also reached its thrilling conclusion, delivering both big payouts and great drama. Local contender Lin Ting Yu rose above the field to secure the title and TWD 2,905,800 (~USD 93,135).. We will see both again as they are now booked into the APT Championship 2026 Main Event.

Elsewhere, the spotlight also fell on Event #49: Turbo – PL Drawmaha Sviten, better known as Sviten Special, as it makes its debut on the Asian Poker Tour. A total of 61 entries took part, building a prize pool of TWD 500,219 (~USD 15,112), with China’s Kwok Fu Fung claiming the historic first title for TWD 145,719 (~USD 4,402). The strong turnout and competitive field marked a successful introduction for the mixed-game format on the APT.

At the centre of this milestone is Martin ‘Franke’ von Zweigbergk, who has been instrumental in bringing Sviten Special to the APT stage. Reflecting on the event, Franke said, “It was a fantastic experience to co-host Sviten Special at APT in Taipei. 61 entries in a late night turbo in a game you would expect not so many had heard of. Boy was I wrong.”

He also pointed to the diversity of the field as a key takeaway, noting, “With the fact that six different nations were on the final table and the eventual top four were all from Asia, I can only clap my hands and say we have done it. Sviten Special, with APT’s help, has become truly international.”

Looking ahead, Franke remains optimistic about the future of the format on the Tour. “So, what’s next? I hope and believe that Sviten Special will be a fixture at APT Tour and all its stops,” he said, adding with a touch of humour, “It has been a blast so far, in my case even a lion, and we still have days and many tournaments to go, so hopefully I can get another cash or two to cover the airfare.”
