Japan’s Yukako Hiroi Claims Maiden Live Title in Largest & Richest South Korean APT Women’s Event
The second of the series women’s events – the KRW 300,000 Event #50: Women's Event – set a new APT country record for both field size and prize pool, with the tournament drawing 70 entries (57 unique) and generating a KRW 17,925,600 (~USD 12,930) prize pool, with the action playing out over twenty-six 20-minute levels.
It was Japan’s Yukako Hiroi who earned the accolades, defeating China’s Yimo Tian heads-up to make her maiden live tournament cash one to remember, claiming a KRW 5,225,600 (~USD 3,800) top prize for her efforts.
Tian took KRW 3,760,000 (~USD 2,730) for her runner-up finish, with Hong Kong’s Hiulam Wong taking the number three spot, which was good for KRW 2,450,000 (~USD 1,780). A total of nine players made the money, with the tournament paying out as follows:

China’s Xiaohui Tan Takes Down Event #51: Turbo Claiming First APT Title
The KRW 900,000 Event #51: Turbo got underway at 7:15pm on Wednesday, May 1, attracting a field of 169 entries (134 unique) and generating a KRW 132,783,300 (~USD 95,925) prize pool.
It took China’s Xiaohui Tan twenty-four fast-paced 15-minute levels to fight her way to the top of the tournament leaderboard, defeating compatriot Jianfeng Jiao heads-up to claim her maiden APT title and the KRW 30,883,300 (~USD 22,450) top prize – the third largest of her career.
Jiao, who was also on the hunt for his first baby lion trophy, had to settle for the KRW 20,910,000 (~USD 15,200) on offer for second place, with Australia’s David Wang rounding out the winner’s podium and banking KRW 13,940,000 (~USD 10,135) for third place.
Natural8 Ambassador Yu Chung “Nevan” Chang also made a final table appearance, taking KRW 3,080,000 (~USD 2,240) for his ninth-place finish, with a total of 23 players making the money and the final table paying out as follows:

Hong Kong’s Alan Lau came up just short of a place in the final nine, earning KRW 2,590,000 for tenth, with the Netherland’s Joris Michl (17th for KRW 1,860,000), and Taiwan’s Pete Chen (21st for 1,540,000) also earning places in the paying positions.

Japan’s Kojiro Fujimoto Swims to Victory in Event #52: Turbo - NL Omaha High - Lazy Rivers
A fun take on Omaha where each player receives their own river card dealt face up, the KRW 400,000 Event #52: Turbo - NL Omaha High - Lazy Rivers (Individual River Card Face Up) saw 38 entries (24 unique) in action, all paddling hard against the current to claim a share of the KRW 13,122,160 (~USD 9,480) prize pool.
It proved to be the fourth time’s the charm for Kojiro Fujimoto, with the Japanese player’s fourth final table showing of the series resulting in some silverware. Fujimoto overcame China’s Chuan Yu heads-up to bag a KRW 4,852,160 (~USD 3,525) top prize in addition to the baby lion trophy and his maiden live tournament title.
Yu earned KRW 3,350,000 (~USD 2,435) for his runner-up finish, with Canada’s Hyo Joon Ko completing the winner’s triumvirate and receiving a KRW 2,130,000 payout for his third-place finish.
China’s Xixiang Luo made an impressive sixth final table appearance of the series, earning KRW 1,540,000 for his troubles. Japan’s Norihide Tanaka was the only other player to cash, taking KRW 1,250,000 for fifth place.

Vietnam’s Phuong Ngoc Nguyen Chops Out Maiden APT Title in Event #53: Hyper Turbo - Double Stack
Getting underway at 9:30pm local time, the KRW 400,000 Event #53: Hyper Turbo - Double Stack drew 109 entries (99 unique), with these night owls duking it out over twenty-seven turbo-charged 10-minute levels for a share of the KRW 37,639,880 (~USD 27,185) prize pool.
It was Vietnam’s Phuong Ngoc Nguyen who claimed the trophy and title after cutting an ICM chip chop with heads-up opponent Kuan Yu Lin of Taiwan; as chip leader, Nguyen banked KRW 8,339,880 (~USD 6,050) and earned his maiden APT title, with Lin locking up a KRW 7,900,000 (~USD 5,735) payday for second.
China’s Jie Zheng rounded out the last of the podium positions, taking KRW 4,350,000 (~USD 3,160) for third place. Natural8 Ambassador Kannapong “Tent” Thanarattrakul made his first final table appearance of the festival, taking KRW 1,750,000 (~USD 1,270) for seventh place. Australia’s Antonio Seremet Scores Second Series Title in Event #54: Hyper Turbo - NL Single Draw Lowball Mix
Australia’s Antonio Seremet has joined the double title club, taking down the KRW 300,000 Event #54: Hyper Turbo - NL Single Draw Lowball Mix (A-5, 2-7) to earn his second career APT title, both of which have come this festival.
Seremet triumphed over a 38-strong (31 unique) field to claim the lion’s share of the 9,731,040 (~USD 7,030) prize pool, overcoming Taiwan’s Li-Ta “Leon” Hsu heads-up to take the KRW 3,611,040 (~USD 2,620) top prize.
Australia’s Matthew Ginn earned KRW 1,580,000 for his third-place finish, with Hong Kong’s Ka Chun Yuan (4th) and Austria’s Hanh Tran (5th) the only other players to make the money with the tournament paying out as follows:

Singapore’s Kim Wah Chiu Scores Maiden Live Title in Event #55: Super Hyper Turbo
The last of the days scheduled tournaments to play out was the KRW 300,000 Event #55: Super Hyper Turbo, which drew a field of 49 entries (44 unique).
Players battled over twenty-one high-octane 5-minute levels for a share of the KRW 12,547,920 (~USD 9,060) prize pool, with Singapore’s Kim Wah Chiu the man to claw his way to the top of the tournament.
Chiu defeated seasoned tournament veteran Sparrow Cheung heads-up to earn his maiden live tournament title and the KRW 3,947,920 (~USD 2,870) top prize, with Cheung taking KRW 2,850,000 for his runner-up finish and third final table appearance of the festival.
Mongolia’s Unurbayar Lkhagvasuren claimed bronze and a payout of KRW 1,820,000 (~USD 1,320) for third place, with China’s Fei Wang also making the money, taking KRW 1,380,000 (~USD 1,000) for fourth. A total of seven players made the money, with the tournament paying out as follows:
