TAIPEI, TAIWAN, March 4, 2024 – The second of the APT Taipei 2024's TWD 70,000 Main Event starting flights, running at the tournament tables of the Chinese Texas Hold'em Poker Club (CTP) Asia Poker Arena, is in the books.
Flight B of the Main Event saw a total of 260 entrants (217 unique) enter the tournament arena, battling it out at the baize over ten 45-minute levels, bringing the combined field up to 525 so far, with two more starting flights left to play out.
It was Jun Obara who topped the chip counts, with the #7 ranked Japanese tournament player spinning up a stack of 312,100 by the time the tournament clock ticked into the red.
Obara was the only Flight B player to crack the 300K chip mark, jumping into second in the overall counts behind Flight A frontrunner Chen Yu Hung of Taiwan.
Singapore's Zhonghuan Dai also enjoyed a decent day at the tables, bagging the second-largest stack of 246,400.
The Philippines' Jonald Garcia rounded out the top three, with other notables to bag a top ten stack including Canada's Wayne Lau (208,300), South Korea's Jae Sung Lee (200,400), and APT Taipei 2023 High Roller champion Phachara Wongwichit (190,400).
Interestingly, nine of the top ten stacks all hail from nine different countries, highlighting the international melting pot that is APT, with the top ten stacks as follows:

Thai actor and TV host Napat "Toptapp" Chokejindachai (135,000) also bagged big, and will be looking to improve on his third place APT Incheon 2023 Main Event finish.
Hong Kong's Edward Yam followed up his third-place finish in the APT Super High Roller by bagging a stack of 94,200.
A total of 118 players were successful in their quest to make Day 2, with other notables to make it including Singapore's Jereld Sam (119,500), Switzerland's Sofia Lovgren Fullmer (109,600), the Philippines' James Mendoza (76,100), India's Sumit Sapra (75,300), and former APT Manila Main Event champion Christopher Mateo (47,700).

The final two starting Flights C & D – both boasting six 30-minute levels and four 40-minute levels each – get underway on Tuesday, March 5 at 11am and 6pm respectively.

Taiwan's Chi-Jen Chu Solves Single Day High Roller - Mystery Bounty
Taiwan's Chi-Jen Chu earned his second APT high roller title in Event #51 Single Day High
The TWD 150,000 Event #51: Single Day High Roller - Mystery Bounty drew 74 high-rolling bounty hunters (57 unique), generating a TWD 9,690,300 (~USD 307,100) prize pool – including 4,810,000 (~USD 152,400) in bounties.
With the mystery bounties kicking in once players made the money, competition for a place in the top 11 paying positions was fiercely contested.
It was Taiwan's Chi-Jen Chu who proved his bounty-hunting credentials, defeating Malaysia's Kean Wei Tan heads-up to earn his second APT high roller title, and a TWD 1,341,300 (~USD 42,505) top prize – the fourth-largest of his career – collecting an additional TWD 850,000 (~USD 26,940) in bounties on his way to claiming the title.
Tan took TWD 954,000 (~USD 30,234) for his runner-up finish, padding this out with a further TWD 150,000 (~USD 4,750) in bounties.
Canada's Albert Nguyen took bronze and a payout of TWD 625,000 (~USD 19,810) for third place, plus an additional TWD 1,150,000 (~USD 36,440) in bounties, with the tournament paying out as follows:

Japan's Daiki Aoki claim a second career APT title in Event #50 PL Omaha High Lazy Rivers
The TWD 10,000 Event #50: PL Omaha High - Lazy Rivers (Individual River Card Face Up) is an interesting take on a PLO tournament, with each player receiving their own river card, dealt face up.
The action played out over twenty-three 25-minute levels, with Japan's Daiki Aoki proving to be the strongest swimmer, defeating a 44-strong (27 unique) field to claim the lion's share of the TWD 379,852 (~USD 12,035) prize pool.
Aoki bested Malaysia's Shu Yih Ng heads-up to take a TWD 128,852 (~USD 4,080) top prize – the largest of his poker career – winning his second APT title in the process.
Ng earned TWD 89,000 (~USD 2,820) for his runner-up finish, with Taiwan's Sheng Fu Yu taking bronze and a payout of TWD 57,000 (~USD 1,805).
Hong Kong's Lok Ming Chan and the UK's Craig Cooper – both making a third final-table appearance of the series – came in fifth and sixth respectively, with the tournament paying out as follows:

Taiwan's Teng-Kuei Hsu Killing it; Claims Back-to-Back Titles with Event #52: NL Hold'em - Freezeout Win
Teng-Kuei Hsu claimed his second APT title in as many days in Event #53 NL Hold'em Freezeout
While dead men tell no tales, Taiwan's Teng-Kuei Hsu certainly has a story to tell, winning back-to-back trophies with the dead man's hand.
Hsu triumphed over the second-largest Mystery Bounty Hunter in APT history with ace-eight (A♠ 8♣) – better known as the dead man's hand after the gunslinger Wild Bill Hickok, who was famously killed while holding it in a poker game in a Deadwood saloon.
Just 24 hours later Hsu was at it again, defeating a 155-strong field in Event #52: NL Hold'em - Freezeout to claim a second series title in as many days. The winning hand? You guessed it, ace eight (A♦ 8♣), although it was the ace of diamonds instead of spades this time.
The action played out over twenty-seven 25-minute levels, with players competing for a TWD 3,382,875 (~USD 107,205) prize pool.
Hsu defeated Taiwan's Chia Yun Wu to keep his festival final table win rate at 100 percent, claiming his third career APT title and taking down a TWD 787,875 (~USD 24,970) top prize – the third largest of his poker career.
Wu collected TWD 533,000 (~USD 16,890) for his runner-up finish, with compatriot Nobuyuki Kawakami rounding out the podium taking a payout of TWD 355,000 (~USD 11,250) for third place.

Norway's Camilla Samsing claimed her maiden APT title in Event #53: Limit Triple Stud
The TWD 6,000 Event #53: Limit - Triple Stud (Razz, Stud, Stud Hi-Lo) drew a 35-strong field (32 unique).
The action played out over twenty-seven 20-minute levels, with players duking it out for a share of the TWD 177,219 (~USD 5,615) prize pool.
It was Norway's Camilla Samsing who took it down, defeating Singapore's Jun Hao Wu heads-up to earn a TWD 65,219 (~USD 2,065) top prize and maiden APT tournament title.
APT Incheon Superstar Challenge champion Wu, making his first final table appearance of the series, banked TWD 45,000 (~USD 1,425) for his runner-up finish.
Australia's John Caridad, making his third final table appearance of the series, earned a TWD 29,000 (~USD 920) payday for third.

Taiwan's Wan Zhu Lin claimed her maiden APT title in Event #54 Women's Event
The TWD 10,000 Event 54: Women's Event drew 75 entries (57 unique), generating a TWD 647,475 (~USD 20,510) prize pool.
It was Taiwan's own Wan Zhu Lin who raised the trophy come the conclusion of play, defeating Thailand's Pussacha Nonsing heads-up to claim the TWD 178,475 (~USD 5,655) top prize and her maiden APT title.
Nonsing collected TWD 127,000 for her runner-up finish, with Taiwan's Meng Ling Lin taking TWD 83,000 for third place to round out the podium positions.
