JEJU, SOUTH KOREA, May 1, 2024 – The two final flights of the APT Jeju 2024 KRW 2.5M Main Event are done and dusted, with the tournament drawing a four-figure field.

Playing out at the tournament tables of the world-class Landing Hotel & Casino, located in the luxurious Jeju Shinhwa Resort, Flight C drew 207 entries (177 unique), with the fourth and final Flight D attracting a further 156 entries (124 unique) with the action in both playing out over a combination of six 30-minute levels and four 40-minute levels.

The Asian Poker Tour's largest-ever South Korean Main Event guarantee of KRW 2 billion (~USD 1.5M) was reached in the first few levels of Flight D, with the total number of tournament entries currently standing at 1,043 – including 106 Natural8 OnLive players – with registration remaining open until the start of Day 2, which kicks off at 11am local time on Thursday, May 2.

A total of 100 players survived the Flight C maelstrom, with reigning APT Main Event champion Daisuke Ogita whipping up a storm to top the end-of-day chip counts with a stack of 206,000.

The top three Flight C stacks all hail from Japan, although Kenichi Takarabe – who placed second in the counts – was the only other Flight C player to conclude play with over 200K in chips, bagging up 205,300.

Compatriot Naruyasu Ota finished just shy on a stack of 199,700, with Hong Kong's Tsz Him Chan (141,600), and Sparrow Cheung (137,200) making the top ten.

Other to make the cut included Thailand's Napat Chokejindachai (128,000), Taiwan's Pete Chen (93,400), bracelet winner Weiran "Kevin" Pu (93,000), former Main Event champion Feng Zhao (91,200), and Natural8 Ambassador Kitty Kuo (86,800).

A further 71 players successfully fought their way through Flight D, with Japan's Ryo Shishido topping the counts, stacking up 224,800 with which to make his play for a place in the paying positions when the Main Event resumes for Day 2.

APT Super High Roller champion Zhendong Li concluded play with the second biggest Flight B stack, bagging up 211,000 in chips.

Once again, a Japanese player rounded out the top three, with Takuma Endo concluding the final flight with 186,100. Mongolia's Tsolmon Ochir (162,600), and Austria's Daniel Smiljkovic (160,800) finished in the top ten.

Other notables to fight their way through included China's Guangcheng Chen (154,800), Superstar Challenge finalists Chi Jen "Justin" Chen (91,600), and Tianyuan "Terry" Tang (89,000), former APT Super High Roller champion Shung Er Sua (82,500), and the USA's Christian Harder (55,000).

DAY 2

China's Jiangfeng Sun, made it through twice, and their smaller stacks will be removed from play. This means 397 combined survivors from the four starting flights will return for Day 2.

It is Flight A front runner Chao Xi who will be returning with the overall chip lead, with the top ten stacks coming into Day 2 as follows:

China's Qi Feng Duan Wins Tour's Largest & Richest South Korean Single Day High Roller

Action in the KRW 3.5M Event #46: Single Day High Roller got underway at 11:15am local time with the tournament drawing a field of 154 entries (118 unique), making it the largest Single Day High Roller the tour has run in Korea to date.

The tournament generated a KRW 470,547,000 (~USD 339,370) prize pool, with the top 23 positions paying out.

Notables in the field included former Main Event champions Dicky Tsang, and Punnat Punsri, and the Thai player's fellow Natural8 Ambassadors Danny Tang, Phachara Wongwichit, Yu Chung "Nevan" Chang, and Ting Yi "Eric" Tsai along with a whole host of others.

However, it was China's Qi Feng Duan the man to top the record field and claim a career-best KRW 109,387,000 (~USD 79,290) top prize.

Duan defeated compatriot Wenguo Lin heads-up to tame the golden lion silhouette trophy and claim his maiden APT title, with Lin locking up KRW 74,110,000 (~USD 53,700) for his runner-up finish.

Macau's Man Lok Chan rounded out the podium, banking KRW 49,410,000 (~USD 35,815) for third place, with other notables to make the final nine including Hong Kong's Wing Po Liu (4th), Thailand's Phanlert Sukonthachartnant (5th), and the UK's Asa Smith (8th), with the final table paying out as follows:

China's Xixiang Luo Finishes on a High in Event #47: PL Omaha High / Hi-Lo Mix - 5 Card

First introduced to the schedule at the recent APT Taipei 2024, the KRW 600,000 Event #47: PL Omaha High / Hi-Lo Mix - 5 Card drew 32 entries (22 unique) on its second outing, generating a KRW 16,761,600 (~USD 12,090) prize pool.

The action played out over eighteen 25-minute levels, with the game switching between the two Omaha variants every seven hands.

It was China's Xixiang Luo who bagged himself a Baby Lion trophy, adding the KRW 6,211,600 (~USD 4,480) top prize to his impressive USD 2.7 million in live tournament winnings.

Luo battled heads-up against Craig Cooper, denying the Brit his seventh APT title and claiming his second career APT title in the process.

Cooper's fourth final table showing of the series earned him KRW 4,270,000 (~USD 3,080) for second place.

Australia's Antonio Seremet made his fourth final table of the festival, following up his win in Event #42: Turbo PL Omaha Hi-Lo - 5 Card (Big O) with a third-place finish, which was good for KRW 2,720,000 (~USD 1,960).

Taiwan's Cheli Lin (4th) and Austria's Hanh Tran (5th) were the only two other players to cash, with the tournament paying out as follows:

China's Tianhao Zheng Wins Second APT Title in Event #48: NL - Hold'em Bounty (KRW 300K Bounty)

The festival's penultimate bounty tournament – the KRW 1M Event #48: NL - Hold'em Bounty (KRW 300K Bounty) – drew a field of 161 entries (124 unique).

This generated a KRW 92,253,000 (~USD 66,530) prize pool, with a further KRW 48,300,000 (~USD 35,025) in the bounty pool.

Players duked it out over twenty-eight 25-minute levels, all looking to collect scalps, with each player busted worth KRW 300,000 (~USD 220).

It was China's Tianhao Zheng who proved to be the sharpest shooter, defeating Japan's Ryosuke Watanabe heads up to claim the KRW 21,453,000 (~USD 15,545) top prize. Zheng collected eight scalps on his way his second APT title, earning a further KRW 2.4 million in bounties.

Watanabe won KRW 14,530,000 (~USD 10,530) for his runner-up finish, and while Zhang took the lion's share of the prize pool, it was his Japanese opponent who collected the most bounties, scalping ten players to earn a further KRW 3 million.

China's Haoyu Wang rounded out the podium, receiving KRW 9,690,000 (~USD 7,020) for this third place finish, plus a further KRW 1.2 million for his four bounties.

APT Taipei Zodiac Classic champion Jun Li of the UK made his third final table showing of the series, cashing in fourth place for KRW 7,930,000 (~USD 5,740), earning a further KRW 1.8 million in bounties.

The KRW 600,000 Event #49: Limit Triple Draw Lowball Mix (A-5, 2-7) atracted 34 entries (31 unique).

Players fought it out at the felt over twenty-seven 20-minute levels, all looking to score a piece of the KRW 17,809,200 (~USD 12,840) prize pool.

Japan's Daiki Aoki proved to be the most talented artist, drawing to his third career APT title after defeating Colin Tsang heads-up to deny the Hong Kong player his second title of the series.

Aoki banked KRW 6,599,200 (~USD 4,780) for his victory, with Tsang taking KRW 4,540,000 (~USD 3,290) for his runner-up finish.

Players from Hong Kong claimed the remaining paying positions, with Jeffrey Lo (3rd), Sparrow Cheung (4th), and Natural8 Ambassador Danny Tang (5th) the only other players to cash.
