With the APT getting the 2025 poker season off to a record-breaking start with the recent APT Manila Classic 2025 and the last two tour visits to Taipei setting and then subsequently breaking the record for the largest and richest poker series ever to run in Taiwan, the upcoming APT Taipei 2025—running Friday, April 25 to Sunday, May 4—promises to be a stellar series.

Just to spice up the action further, there are three seats up for grabs to the APT’s largest-ever guaranteed Main Event running at the end of the year, with the winners of the tour’s three signature tournaments—the APT Main Event, the APT High Roller, and the APT Super High Roller—receiving poker’s hottest ticket to the TWD 165 million (~USD 5 million) guaranteed APT Championship Main Event valued at TWD 350,000 (~USD 10,700), plus an additional USD 500 to cover expenses.

With two of the three tickets available in high roller events, there has never been a better time to dip your toes into the high-stakes waters and fight for fortune and glory.

High roller events make up close to 20 percent of the scheduled tournaments on offer so there is plenty of action on the cards for the tours’ dedicated high roller player base.

Of the 126 tournaments running, 24 are high roller events with buy-ins ranging from TWD 25,000 (~USD 760) for the Hyper Turbo High Roller and climbing all the way up to the stars, with the Superstar Challenge coming with a hefty TWD 800,000 (~USD 24,400) price point.

High Rolling Highlights

Read on as we look under the hood of the APT Taipei 2025 High Roller schedule and examine the tournaments on offer in more detail:

Single Day High Roller Tournaments:

While the festival boasts four two-day high roller tournaments with lengthy levels, sometimes you are just looking to scratch the poker itch and want to sit down for a few hours, book a win and head off with a shiny new trophy and a pile of cash.

Eight of the 24 high roller tournaments (not including turbo and hyper turbo tournaments which we will cover further down) are Single Day High Roller events designed to be played out in a day without sacrificing too much when it comes to the structure.

Buy-ins range from TWD 35,000 (~USD 1,070) to TWD 165,000 (~USD 5,040) and there are several new additions to the schedule, with a dedicated Women’s High Roller, as well as a Pot Limit Omaha High - High Roller and a 9 Game - High Roller.

The Event #66: Women’s High Roller comes with a TWD 35,000 (~USD 1,070) buy-in and a 30,000 starting stack, and the Event #93: 9 Game - High Roller comes with a TWD 65,000 (~USD 1,985) buy-in and a 50,000 starting stack.

All the rest come with 100,000-chip starting stacks with buy-ins ranging from TWD 65,000 to TWD 100,000 (~USD 3,050) for the Single Day High Rollers, with four on the schedule: Event #13: PL Omaha High – High Roller (TWD 65,000/~USD 1,985) buy-in, Event #26: Single Day High Roller (TWD 100,000/~USD 3,050 buy-in), Event #58: Single Day High Roller - Mystery Bounty (35K Bounty)—more on this below—and Event #69: Single Day High Roller (TWD 85,000/~USD 2,600 buy-in). The biggest of the single day events is Event #96: Baby Superstar Challenge, which comes with a 100,000-chip starting stack and a TWD 165,000 (~USD 5,040) buy-in.

A 30-second shot clock is in effect from the start of all tournaments apart from the Women’s High Roller and the 9 Game, where it comes into effect one table off the money. As per the APT tournament rules players receive two 30-second time banks and receive another time bank at every scheduled break.
