Michael Foo
Michael Foo leads the pack heading into Day 2 of the KRW 15,000,000 (~USD $10,800) APT Super High Roller. The New Zealand national accumulated a massive 3,835,000 chip stack over sixteen 40-minute levels of play, putting him in prime position for a deep run.
A total of 89 entries (62 unique) generated a prize pool of KRW 1,216,272,500 (~USD 873,132), marking this the biggest APT Super High Roller in the tour's history. 23 players still remain, out of which 13 will be in the money, but all eyes are on the prestigious Pewter Lion Trophy and the top price of KRW 319,292,500 (~USD 229,210). With the stakes this high, an action-packed day is guaranteed tomorrow, with coverage available via the live blog and live stream.
Bayar Saran
Chasing Foo in second place is Bayar Saran of Mongolia, who bagged 1,910,000 chips. Saran quietly built his stack throughout the day, consistently avoiding major setbacks and never losing any massive pots. His steady play has him well-positioned to make a run at the title.
Completing the Day 1 podium is Japan’s Ryuta Nakai, who starts day two with 1,600,000 chips. Despite only having started playing live tournaments a year ago, Nakai has already enjoyed impressive success, including cashing for over USD 1,000,000. Motivated to earn his first APT trophy, Nakai is certainly a player to watch.
Charlie Chiu
Other notable players who are still in the race for the title, are poker ambassador Charlie Chiu (1,355,000), former APT High Roller Champion Thanisorn Saelor (1,055,000), Jun Obara (890,000), Calvin Lee (575,000), and Nang Quang Nguyen (215,000).
