JEJU, SOUTH KOREA, September 26, 2026 – Action accelerated on Day 2 of the APT Jeju 2026 (#APTJeju2026)—running from September 25 to October 7 and hosted in partnership with Landing Entertainment Korea (LEK)—as ten tournaments played out over the bustling tables of LES A Casino inside the luxurious Jeju Shinhwa World resort complex.
Headlining the day's stacked lineup was the thrilling Final Day of the Korea National Cup. The festival also saw the arrival of its first signature Lion Trophy event with some of the Asia-Pacific’s top tournament players battling for the coveted Pewter Lion trophy in Day 1 of the KRW 500 million (~USD 369,000) guaranteed APT Super High Roller.
Adding to the marquee side event action, the opening three flights of the KRW 400 million (~USD 295,000) guaranteed Mystery Bounty Hunter – Sponsored by Natural8 drew 644 eager contenders hunting for big bounties.

Liew Thwarts Wang's Title Defense to Claim Second APT Trophy & KRW 70M (~USD 52K) in Korea National Cup
Malaysia’s Lee Liew delivered a standout performance in the KRW 900,000 (~USD 665) Korea National Cup, overcoming defending champion Zhiyi Wang in a hard-fought heads-up duel to secure his second APT title.
Outlasting a 474-entry field, Liew captured the largest portion of the KRW 358,344,000 (~USD 264,460) prize pool. Along with the silver lion silhouette trophy, he earned a lucrative KRW 70,334,000 (~USD 51,900) top prize—the second-largest score of his career.
Wang fell just short of becoming the first player in tour history to pull off a successful APT title defense. Despite missing out on the victory, the runner-up finish rewarded the Chinese player with a KRW 44,250,000 (~USD 32,655) payout, marking the second-highest cash of his career.
China’s Furui Wang was another to claim a career second best result, rounding out the winner's podium in third place for KRW 31,690,000 (~USD 23,390).
“I actually didn't know,” stated Liew in his post match interview in Mandarin when asked about his heads-up battle with defending champion Wang.
“I'm glad I stopped him from getting his second consecutive title! He played very solidly and didn't make many mistakes.”
Liew reflected on his poker journey and what this breakthrough victory in a mid-sized event means to him after competing for three years.
“This is my first trophy from a mid-sized event—everything I won before was from smaller side events. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time... It feels super cool,” Liew added regarding his milestone achievement.
“As for my prize money, I plan to use most of it to keep bankrolling future tournaments. My next goal is to win a main event title, which I haven't achieved yet,” Liew explained regarding his future plans.
He concluded his interview by expressing heartfelt gratitude to those who supported him along the way: “I want to thank my friends and my coach who have guided, inspired, and stood by me throughout this journey.”

All 67 returning survivors were guaranteed a payout of at least KRW 1,380,000 (~USD 1,020), and while start-of-day chip leader Zu You Wang managed to convert his sizable stack into a fifth place finish there were plenty of decorated players who departed before the final table.
Both other flight frontrunners came close, with Flight B’s Bin Li departing in 14th, while Flight C’s Dillion Najor finished just outside the final two tables in 18th.
Other notables who enjoyed deep runs included two-time bracelet winner Renji Mao (20th), and reigning APT Jeju Main Event champion Abraham Ceesvin (30th).
The APT New Era’s most successful Women’s Event player Sun Yue was the last women standing in the tournament, exiting in 33rd.
Russian bracelet winner Maxim Lykov bowed out in 50th, and India’s Rishi Mehra exited in 55th.

Rangkatekarn Roars to Chip Lead in KRW 1.36B (~USD 1.02M) Super High Roller
Thailand’s Teeraphat Rangkatekarn is hunting his maiden APT title in the Super High Roller
The big game hunt began in earnest in the KRW 15M (~USD 11,000) APT Super High Roller. With a KRW 500M (~USD 369,000) guarantee and the first of the festival’s signature Mega Lion Trophies on the line, in addition to a USD 10,000 (~KRW 13.4M) seat to November’s APT Championship Main Event there was all to play for.
The tournament attracted an impressive 99 high-stakes entries (67 unique) making this the tour’s second largest Korean-based APT Super High Roller, just behind February’s 115-entry APT Jeju Classic 2026 edition.
The prize pool stands at a substantial KRW 1,368,427,500 (~USD 1,021,215), making this the second richest Korean-based iteration of the tournament, and fifth richest APT Super High Roller of all time.
A total of 13 players will make the paying positions with a min-cash good for KRW 27,780,000 (~USD 20,730) and the eventual champion taking home an impressive KRW 355,667,500 (~USD 265,425) top prize, in addition to the title, APTC Main Event seat and the coveted Pewter Lion trophy.

By the time the tournament clock ticked into the red after sixteen 40-minute levels just 26 players remained in contention.
Thailand’s Teeraphat Rangkatekarn topped the Day 1 leaderboard after amassing a monstrous 3,425,000 stack – over 49 big blinds more than next closest rival, the USA’s Calvin Lee (1,945,000), with compatriot Christian Harder (1,700,000) rounding out the top three.
German high stakes tournament specialist Fabian Gumz (1,565,000) also bagged a top ten stack, as did Denmark’s Johan Pedersen (1,375,000), tour regular Yita Choong (1,270,000), APT all-time money winner Joseph Cheong (1,025,000), and APT Jeju 2025 High Roller champion Khoa Anh Ngo (975,000).

Other notables still in the running include reigning APT Jeju Main Event champion Abraham Ceesvin (950,000), the Netherlands Michel Molenaar (575,000), and APT Taipei 2025 High Roller champion Trung Quan Nguyen (395,000).

India’s Kunal Patni bagged a sizable chip lead in the Mystery Bounty Hunter
The most popular attraction of the day was the KRW 1.2M (~USD 885) buy-in Mystery Bounty Hunter – Sponsored by Natural8. As the third of eight events this festival awarding the eventual champion a USD 10,000 (~KRW 13.4M) seat to November’s APT Championship Main Event, aspiring bounty hunters packed into the tournament area of LES A Casino with a combined 644 entries (343 unique) competing over the three starting flights.
The KRW 400 million (~USD 295,000) guarantee was exceeded midway through Flight B, with the total prize pool standing at KRW 667,699,200 (~USD 498,280) split between a KRW 461,099,200 (~USD 344,100) prize pool, and a KRW 193,200,000 (~USD 144,180) bounty pool.
With the top 14 percent of each flight making the Final Day and the paying positions, just 91 players remain in contention for the KRW 89,009,200 (~USD 66,425) top prize – the second highest the tour has ever awarded for this event in South Korea.
All survivors are guaranteed a payout of at least KRW 1,380,000 (~USD 1,030), with the biggest bounty coming in at an enticing KRW 25,600,000 (~USD 19,100).

Flight A
The opening Flight A was the largest of the three flights drawing 257 entries who duked it out over nineteen 30-minute levels with 36 players making the cut for the Final Day.
India’s Kunal Patni had clearly been working on his mystery solving skills, dominating the action to close out the flight as tournament top dog with a substantial 796,000 in chips – over 29 big blinds more than the next biggest Flight A stack belonging to Yirui Zhang of China, who closed out the action with 505,000 in chips, putting him third in the overall counts.
China’s Chao Jiang (454,000) rounded out the top three Flight A stacks, with other notables to make it though including Thailand’s Napat Chokejindachai (292,000), Japan’s John Matsuda (251,000), and former Main Event champion Dicky Tsang (85,000).

Flight B
China’s Xiaochun Shi bagged biggest on Flight B
Flight B saw a further 227 entries pile in, with the action playing out over nineteen 20-minute levels and 32 players making it through to the Final Day and the paying positions.
China’s Xiaochun Shi bagged biggest, closing out the flight with 474,000 in chips, putting him fourth in the overall leaderboard, with Japan’s Hideki Nakamura (448,000), and China’s Lili Tang (378,000) rounding out the top three.
Others to make the cut included Cypriot bracelet winner Georgios Skarparis (233,000), and Indian bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer (222,000).

Flight C
China’s Bei Shi topped the turbo Flight C
The third and final Turbo Flight C drew 160 entries who competed over twenty fast-paced 15-minute levels with 23 players surviving the tournament maelstrom.
China’s Bei Shi topped the final flight with a stack of 517,000, putting him second in the overall counts. India’s Arjun Agarwal (453,000), and Hong Kong’s Chun Shing Lau (425,000) rounded out the top three, and Natural8 ambassador Nevan Chang (255,000) also locked up a spot in the Final Day.
