Day 1 of the TWD 90,000 + 10,000 High Roller has been concluded. A total of 302 entries created a total prize pool of TWD 26,364,600 (~$861,000). The winner of this event will take home TWD 5,286,500 (~$172,650). Norwegian Peter Da is our Day 1 chip leader and the only player to finish above a million chips (1,096,000).

Several big pots in the and a last hand hero call against Dylan Foster made sure Peter Da is our chip leader. During the first hours of the day it was however Adam Kharman that grabbed the early chip lead. An all-in pot with A♦ K♥ against Alan Lau's A♣ Q♦ made sure Kharman was in cruisecontrol all day.

Coming in as fourth in chips is Indian poker professional Zarvan Tumboli. The Indian had a good start when he flopped a set of nines and got full value from top pair. Tumboli has won 3 APT titles in his career and will be dreaming tonight of a fouth title.

Seungmook Jung from Korea made it to Day with 602,000. The Korean poker profesional is a regular on the APT tour. Jung holds a total of 2 APT titles which one of them came in a High Roller event in Manila last year. Further Jung was second in the APT High Roller at APT Hanoi ($62,750) in February of this year. Can he go back-to-back in the same event?

Other notables that made it to Day 2 are Vietnam's Nguyen Nang Quang (656,000), Korea's Nahmyung Kim (463,000), bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer (371,000), and APT Incheon Main Event winner Farhad Agbayev (257,000).

APTTaipei2023_Event18_SuperstarChallenge_060.jpg

John "Jojo" Tech will not be our new High Roller champion at the APT Taipei as he just busted out of this event after a preflop all-in with A♦ 5♦ against the A♣ 9♦ of Australia's Milan Stojkovic.

The board ran K♦ 2♥ 9♥ Q♦ 5♥.

After his impressive win in the APT Superstar Challenge not another High Roller win for Tech, but we are sure we will see Tech back in the future.

Setup Eliminates Hong

APTTaipei2023_Event29_SDHR_067.jpg

We just witnessed a big setup situation at table 36 between Jun Hao Wu and Jinho Hong. All the chips went into the middle on the river on a board of Q♥ 3♣ 9♥ Q♦ 7♥. Hong thought he was strong with his K♥ J♥, but couldn't beat Wu's boat 9♦ 9♣.

Minami Doubles With the Cowboys

PostedJust nowby Life of Poker - Joris

The short stacked Keita Minami has just doubled up when he jammed his last 45,000 into the middle with K♥ K♠. Minami's opponent Yoosu Kim only had J♠ 9♠ and needed a miracle to win the hand.

The board ran out without a sweat for the Japanese: :3♠ A♦ 3♥ A♣ 5♦. Minami started Day 3 of the Main Event here in Taipei with only 2,5 big blinds and he was able to still run deep. Can he make another come back run?
