Flight B of the APT Taipei TWD 10,000 National Cup is in the books, after yesterday's success with 488 entries on the first flight, the second flight received 425 entries (298 unique). This means with three more flights to be finished, the guaranteed prize pool of TWD 15,000,000 (~$475,000) will be smashed. A total of 63 players made it into the money on Flight B, and 24 survivors were able to bag for Day 2.

Taiwan's Pi-Ying Hsu is our commanding Flight B chip leader, bagging 1,225,000. His countryman Wei Te Tai is the only other player to bring a seven-figure chip stack to Day 2 with a cool 1,000,000 in chips. Kwan Cheng completed the podium, bagging 890,000. A full Taiwanese top three!

Flight B generated a prize pool of TWD 3,669,025 (~$115,985) and paid out TWD 760,000 (~USD 24,020) of that, which was awarded to places 24 to 63. Korean celebrity Yohwan "BoxeR" Lim burst the bubble by busting Hon Leung. Lim flopped trips and turned a full-house to leave Leung drawing dead. All final 63 players were guaranteed a min-cash of TWD 15,000 (~$474). A total of TWD 2,909,025 (~USD 91,940) of the Flight B prize pool will be carried over to Day 2.

Another familiar face that made it to Day 2 is Australia's Jarryd Godena. The Aussie is a tournament regular with $656,261 in cashes. On Day 1 of the series, Godena made it into the money in two events, #Event2 Pot Limit Omaha High - 5 Card and #Event 8 Pot Limit Omaha Turbo. Godena will bring 590,000 into Day 2.

Other notables that made it to Day 2 are Hong Kong's Yiu Yeung Leung (420,000), Japan's Haruna Fujita (320,000), and Germany's Felix Kohl (195,000).

The top ten stacks on Flight 1B.

And just after the break, a massive spree of bust-outs happened simultaneously. As players are already in the money, we do not play hand-for-hand, so we only caught part of all the action.

The official Day 1B bubble was Li Wei Kuo, who jammed his ace-five into the ace-king of Ting Lo Chun. A clean run out for Chun made sure Kuo hit the rail in 25th place, winning NT$25,000 (~$790).

Meanwhile, at Table 2, a big all-in happened between India's Vikaash Shah and Chen Kai Fan.

Shah tabled A Q and was crushing Fan's K Q .

The poker gods had other plans for Shah as the flop came 6 K K . A massive blow to Shah, who kept remarkably calm. The Q turn meant Shah was our 25th-place finisher, and we lost one more player on the Day 2 bubble.

On Table 1, a big pot was brewing between Shih Kai Chiu and Yohwan "BoxeR" Lim. The board read Q 6 K T when Lim checked his option to Chiu. The local player fired out for 35,000 and saw Lim check-raised him to 70,000. Chiu made the call.

The 8 on the river made BoxeR use two of his timebanks before he announced a bet of 140,000. Chiu was not a happy camper as he started counting what he still had left behind. The Taiwanese concluded it was not worth losing half his stack as he made the fold.

BoxeR is out for blood as he moved to over 500,000 chips!

We picked up the action on Table 5 with a 24,000 raise by Chih Yung Yeh from the hijack. On his direct left, Xiang Guang Chang 3-bet to 60,000, but if the action was not big enough, Chen Kai Fan jammed all-in for 169,000 from the button.

The action was folded back to Chang, who made the quick call.

Chang: K K .

Fan: A Q .

The perfect situation for Chang, who covered his opponent by 24,000. The poker gods seemed to grant Chang's wishes when they flop and turn bricked out completely. When the A on the river appeared, Chang shook his head and told us, "This is the third time today on the river like that". Felix Kohl told Chang that he folded an ace to rub extra salt in the wounds.

In the next hand, Chang shipped his last 24,000 into the middle with 2 2 and was called by A 9 . The board ran out 3 7 8 8 9 . Chang laughed loudly, "What can I do? This is the fourth!" Chang was eliminated in 36th place.

We caught preflop all-in action on Table 5 between Li Wei Kuo, who moved his last 72,000 into the middle, and Vikaash Shah, who made the call and covered the Taiwanese by 55,000. Shah soon received he was in big trouble.

Shah: A 4 .

Kuo: Q Q .

The flop and turn gave Shah a gutshot: 5 9 J 2 . The Indian was looking for any ace or three, but was not rewarded when the 8 spiked on the river.
