JEJU, SOUTH KOREA, September 28, 2026 – Hosted in partnership with Landing Entertainment Korea (LEK), day four of the APT Jeju 2026 (#APTJeju2026) saw the second of four starting flights in the KRW 2.2 billion (~USD 1.6 million) APT Main Event play out, with the tournament running between September 27 to October 5.

Outside of the Main Event, the tournament tables of LES A Casino—located inside the luxurious Jeju Shinhwa World resort complex—saw plenty of high-stakes action with Day 1 of the KRW 4.5M (~USD 3,300) High Roller – Ultra Stack, and Day 1 of the prestigious KRW 37M (~USD 27,300) buy-in Superstar Challenge both getting underway at 11:30am (KST) and 12pm (KST) respectively, with the latter setting a new tour record for entries and prize pool.

Other side event action to play out included the Women’s Event – Heads Up, and Women’s Event – Bounty, and an eclectic selection of Omaha, Triple Draw, and Turbo tournaments. There was also plenty of value to be had with the NL Hold'em - Freezeout - Sponsored by JOPT (~USD 9,200 Added value) offering players a chance to win JPY 40,000 (~USD 253) tickets to the NLH Millions at the Japan Open Poker Tour – you can read all about these in the side event press release.

Main Event Flight B

Featuring a hefty KRW 2.2 billion (~USD 1.6 million) guarantee, seats to the APT Championship Main Event for the top five finishers (and likely six-figure USD payouts), Flight B of the KRW 2.7M (~USD 1,900) APT Main Event got underway at 11am (KST).

This saw 239 entries (206 unique) battle it out at the baize over ten 45-minute levels, with 98 players successfully circumnavigating the tournament minefield to lock up a place on Day 2.

Combined with the 223 OnLive Day 1 entries who competed on tour sponsor Natural8, and the 297 Flight A entries, that brings the total number of Main Event entries up to 759 with two Day 1 flights still to play out.

By the time the last card came off the top of the deck just players 98 remained in the running, bringing the total number of Day 2 survivors up to 194.

Once again it was a Chinese player topping the end of day chip counts, with Liangqiang Pang climbing his way to the summit to conclude the action with a stack of 327,600, which puts him second in the overall pecking order.

Pang was the only player from Flight B to breach the 300K barrier, with compatriots Kanwen Du (279,400) and Zhou Lu (266,400) rounding out the top three Flight B spots, with the top ten as follows:

Other notables to make it through to Day 2 included Mystery Bounty Hunter runner up Jianfeng Sun (169,100), the USA’s Gary Moon (79,900), two-time APT titlist Tom Verbruggen (76,500), the Netherlands Joris Michl (61,500), and Hong Kong’s Kevin Choi (38,300).

Current and former champions to make it through included newly crowned APT Super High Roller champion Teeraphat Rangkatekarn (38,000), APT Incheon 2019 Main Event champion Dicky Tsang (30,700), and APT Taipei 2021 Main Event champion and Natural8 ambassador Kitty Kuo (65,600). Kuo’s fellow ambassador Nevan Chang (69,500) also made the cut.

Players who missed out still have a chance to qualify, with two starting flights set to run on Tuesday, September 29. The final starting flights, Flight C and Flight D—each structured with six 30-minute and four 45-minute levels—take place on Tuesday, September 29, at 11am and 6pm KST, respectively. Late registration remains open through level 11 on Day 2, which commences at 11:15am KST on Wednesday, September 30.

Rob Hollink Holds Commanding Lead in Record-Breaking Superstar Challenge

Poker veteran Rob Hollink carries a commanding lead into the final day of the richest Superstar Challenge in APT history

The festival’s first major record fell in its most prestigious buy-in event. The KRW 37M (~USD 27,300) Superstar Challenge drew its largest-ever field since the buy-in increased to USD 25,000 at APT Taipei 2024, setting a new tournament record.

A high-calibre international field of 51 entries (38 unique) battled across fourteen 40-minute levels for a share of a monster KRW 1,785,127,500 (~USD 1,332,185) prize pool—the richest ever generated in this event.

Just 11 players will reach the money, securing at least KRW 53,150,000 (~USD 39,665). The eventual champion will walk away with a KRW 451,777,500 (~USD 337,150) top prize (the second-largest in event history), the exclusive Black Stealth Lion trophy, and a USD 10,000 (~KRW 13.4M) seat to November’s APT Championship Main Event.

The star-studded lineup featured former champions Calvin Lee, two-time winner Joseph Cheong, Natural8 ambassador Chih Wei Fan, Punnat Punsri, and Tony Ren Lin, alongside WSOP bracelet holders Renji Mao and Rob Hollink, plus two-time Main Event winner Lester Edoc, and Big Three APT titlists Daniel Neilson, Mingcong Chen, Rudy Edenata, Teeraphat Rangkatekarn, and Eric Tsai.

While several notables fell short, poker veteran Hollink outpaced the heavy-hitting field, bagging a commanding 95 big blind stack of 1,890,000. Germany’s Fabian Gumz follows in second (1,310,000), with Natural8 ambassador Nevan Chang (1,240,000) rounding out the top three of the 16 survivors.

While Joseph Cheong (380,000) is returning as one of the shorter stacks with just 19 big blinds, the US player still has a chance to make tour history once again as the first triple Superstar Challenge champion.

Tony Ren Lin (245,000) is returning as the shortest stack with just 12 big blinds, but the Chinese poker superstar is more than capable of mounting a comeback and claiming his second Superstar Challenge title.

What promises to be a thrilling final day resumes at 11:15am KST and will play down to a champion.

The two-day KRW 4.5M (~USD 3,300) buy-in High Roller – Ultra Stack proved to be another massive hit, drawing a field of 283 entries (202 unique) across fourteen 40-minute levels of high-octane poker action.

The sizable turnout generated a substantial KRW 1,100,304,000 (~USD 821,120) prize pool, with the top 39 players set to earn a payout. A min-cash is worth KRW 7,500,000 (~USD 5,600), while the eventual champion will walk away with a handsome KRW 217,934,000 (~USD 162,640) top prize, the trophy, and a USD 10,000 (~KRW 13.4M) seat to November’s APT Championship Main Event.

When the dust settled on Day 1, only 96 contenders punched their tickets to the Final Day. Leading the pack is China’s Changliang Sun, who bagged a towering stack of 1,540,000. He is closely followed by fellow countryman Zong Jin Sui (1,441,000), with the United Kingdom's Jun Li (1,399,000) rounding out the top three.
