JEJU, SOUTH KOREA, September 27, 2026 – With the Hors d'oeuvres now served, it’s time for the APT Jeju 2026 (#APTJeju2026) main course. Day three of the festival saw the arrival of the first of four starting flights in the KRW 2.2 billion (~USD 1.6 million) APT Main Event, which will be playing out from September 27 to October 5.

Hosted in partnership with Landing Entertainment Korea (LEK), the 13-day festival is hitting its stride with an impressive thirteen tournaments in action across the tables of LES A Casino located inside the luxurious Jeju Shinhwa World resort complex – a perfect Sunday, if you are a poker aficionado.

In addition to the Main Event, the first of the festival’s signature Mega Lion trophies was secured in the Super High Roller, and there was also the thrilling conclusion to the Mystery Bounty Hunter – Sponsored by Natural8, both of which granted the winners a USD 10,000 (~KRW 13.4M) seat to November’s APT Championship Main Event.

Side event highlights included the Single Day High Roller – Mystery Bounty and the always popular Sunday Super Stack, plus a plethora of Omaha, Stud, Triple Draw and wacky Hold’em variants – which you can read all about in the side event press release.

China's Xiubo Li Claims Flight A Chip Lead; Main Event up to 520 Entries

Featuring a hefty KRW 2.2 billion (~USD 1.6 million) guarantee, seats to the APT Championship Main Event for the top five finishers (and likely six-figure USD payouts), the opening Flight A of the KRW 2.7M (~USD 1,900) APT Main Event was the marquee attraction of the day.

Action kicked off at 11am (KST) as 297 entries (217 unique) took to the felt to battle through the ten scheduled 60-minute levels, with 96 players emerging from the tournament crucible to bag up chips.

Combined with the 223 OnLive Day 1 entries who competed on tour sponsor Natural8, that brings the total number of Main Event entries up to 520, with 31 players having fought their way through to Day 3 and the paying positions via Natural8.

It was China’s Xiubo Li who powered into pole position in the first of the live flights, concluding the action with a leaderboard-topping 381,000.

Russia’s Dmitrii Belikov (306,100) and Hong Kong’s Timothy Chung (300,900) were the only two other players to finish on a stack of over 300K to round out the top three spots.

Two-time APT titlist Hiroyuki Noda of Japan (269,400), six-time APT titlist Kunal Patni of India (239,000), and inaugural APT High Roller Championship winner Toby Joyce of Ireland (234,400) also put on strong performances to bag top ten stacks.

Other notables to lock up a berth for Day 2 included Indian bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer (205,500), recently crowned Korea National Cup champion Lee Liew (128,200), APT Jeju Classic 2026 Super High Roller and Superstar Challenge champion Tony Ren Lin (125,400), APT Taipei 2025 High Roller champion Trung Quan Nguyen (117,400), and APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024 High Roller champion Martin Sedlak (99,000).

With three more starting flights left to play out, there are still opportunities for those unsuccessful in their endeavours to win their way through.

Flight B begins at 11am KST on Monday, September 28, featuring ten 45-minute levels of play.

The final starting flights, Flight C and Flight D—each structured with six 30-minute and four 45-minute levels—take place on Tuesday, September 29, at 11am and 6pm KST, respectively. Late registration remains open through level 11 on Day 2, which commences at 11:15am KST on Wednesday, September 30.

Thailand’s Teeraphat Rangkatekarn Tames Pewter Lion in APT Super High Roller for KRW 355.6M (~USD 265.4K)

Thailand’s Teeraphat Rangkatekarn scored a career-defining win to climb to 11th on Thailand's All-time Money List

The first signature Mega Lion trophy of the festival found its owner as Thailand’s Teeraphat Rangkatekarn conquered a stacked field in the KRW 15M (~USD 11,000) APT Super High Roller.

Featuring a KRW 500M (~USD 369,000) guarantee, the flagship high-stakes event drew 99 entries, generating a massive KRW 1,368,427,500 (~USD 1,021,215) prize pool – the second richest ever awarded by the tour for this event in South Korea.

A total of 26 survivors returned for the Final Day, all aiming for a slice of the cash and the coveted Pewter Lion trophy. Only 13 reached the money, with German high-stakes specialist Fabian Gumz falling on the bubble at the hands of the USA’s Calvin Lee, guaranteeing the remaining players at least KRW 27,780,000 (~USD 20,730).

Rangkatekarn came into the Final Day as chip leader and kept his foot on the gas to maintain his lead all the way to the final table.

By the time play reached four-handed after Rangkatekarn sent reigning APT Jeju Main Event champion Abraham Ceesvin to the rail in fifth, the Thai player held over 60 percent of the chips in play.

While Lee eliminated the Philippines' James Mendoza in fourth place when his ace-king held against Mendoza's ace-three, that left the former and his compatriot Christian Harder sitting on around 19 percent and 17 percent of the chips respectively, with Rangkatekarn holding the rest.

Shortly after, Rangkatekarn cracked the pocket aces of seasoned veteran Harder to send the US player out in third in brutal fashion, turning the nut flush with ace-queen suited.

Rangkatekarn entered heads-up play against Lee holding a commanding 5:1 chip lead (20 million to Lee’s 4 million). Although Lee mounted a fierce comeback—doubling up with pocket queens and briefly seizing the lead after hitting a flush on the river—Rangkatekarn regrouped and reclaimed momentum to seal the victory.

Along with the Pewter Lion trophy, Rangkatekarn claimed a career-best KRW 355,667,500 (~USD 265,425) top prize and a USD 10,000 (~KRW 13.4M) seat to November's APT Championship Main Event, leaving Lee to take home KRW 249,330,000 (~USD 186,070) for his runner-up finish.

The victory more than doubled Rangkatekarn's career live earnings to over USD 544,000, propelling him 11 spots up Thailand's All-Time Money List from 22nd to just outside the top ten.

"This is the biggest tournament, the biggest catch... Ask for anything, manifest anything—I can get it all," said Rangkatekarn after his win.

"I rely on exploitation rather than strict GTO play. Now I can go to the APT Championship, I can't miss it..." said Rangkatekarn before heading off into the Jeju evening to celebrate the largest win of his poker career.

Daisuke Abiko Doubles Career Live Earnings With Mystery Bounty Hunter Win for KRW 59.8M (~USD 44.6K)

Japan’s Daisuke Abiko earned the largest score of his poker career in the Mystery Bounty Hunter

While high-stakes specialists clashed for the Pewter Lion in the Super High Roller, 91 survivors from a 644-entry field returned for the Final Day of the KRW 1.2M (~USD 885) Mystery Bounty Hunter – Sponsored by Natural8.

Players were battling for the lion’s share of the KRW 461,099,200 (~USD 344,100) prize pool while hunting bounty envelopes from an additional KRW 193,200,000 (~USD 144,180) bounty pool.

Japan’s Daisuke Abiko went on an impressive run to outlast the competition and more than double his career live earnings after cutting a heads-up ICM deal with runner-up Jianfeng Sun.

Sun secured the larger cash share of KRW 84,119,200 (~USD 62,700) plus an additional KRW 3,600,000 (~USD 2,685) in bounty payouts after busting five opponents.

Meanwhile, Abiko took the prestigious Silver Lion Silhouette trophy, a career-best KRW 59,800,000 (~USD 44,600) top prize, and a further KRW 9,400,000 (~USD 7,015) in bounties after collecting seven scalps. In addition, the Japanese player also claimed the USD 10,000 (~KRW 13.4M) seat to November's APT Championship Main Event.

The USA’s Daniel Lei rounded out the last of the podium places, receiving KRW 39,290,000 (~USD 29,320) for his third place finish, with his three bounty payouts earning him a further KRW 1,800,000 (~USD 1,340).

Sixth place finalist Zhanyu He scooped the biggest bounty of KRW 25,600,000 (~USD 19,100) in addition to five others to bring his total haul for the tournament up to KRW 48,770,000 (~USD 36,400).

All 91 returning players were guaranteed a KRW 1,380,000 (~USD 1,030) payday, with other notables to make deep runs including India’s Rishi Mehra (12th), start-of-day chip leader Kunal Patni (16th), APT Taipei 2026 Main Event champion Walter Lau (26th), Cypriot bracelet winner Georgios Skarparis (31st), Japan’s John Matsuda (35th), and Natural8 ambassador Nevan Chang (36th).
