TAIPEI, TAIWAN, APRIL 26, 2025– China’s Zichuan Huang made a triumphant first appearance on the Asian tournament scene by winning Event #14: NL Hold’em – Freezeout. With previous results all coming in the United States, Huang outlasted a 62-entry field to seize the title and TWD 547,380 (~USD 16,898), marking a strong debut on Asian soil.
Malaysia’s Jian Yang Teh secured second place for TWD 393,500 (~USD 12,145), while Hong Kong’s Tsz Hin Lou completed the top three with a payout of TWD 256,000 (~USD 7,901).
Also making a deep run was Germany’s Rene Alexander Von Reden, the reigning Main Event champion in Taipei, who finished eighth after an earlier exit in the APT Super High Roller.

Wu Secures Fourth APT Title in Event #13: PL Omaha High – High Roller
Wu was imperious for his fourth APT title
Singaporean poker superstar Jun Hao Wu added another trophy to his growing APT collection, capturing his fourth APT title in Event #13: PL Omaha High – High Roller. Wu beat out a tough 26-entry field to pocket TWD 613,160 (~USD 18,925), pushing his career live earnings ever closer to the USD 900,000 milestone.
Hong Kong’s Lok Ming Chan finished runner-up, taking home TWD 409,000 (~USD 12,620), while Malaysia’s Owen Chong rounded out the top three with TWD 263,000 (~USD 8,117).

Finland’s Riku Koivurinne made a memorable first appearance on the Asian tournament circuit, claiming his maiden APT title in Event #16: Dealer’s Choice. A seasoned mixed games pro with close to USD 250,000 in live earnings, Koivurinne navigated through a 47-entry field to take down the title and the TWD 182,641 (~USD 5,637) top prize.
Japan’s Tomohiro Abe finished as the runner-up, earning TWD 132,500 (~USD 4,091), while fellow Japanese player Daiki Aoki secured third place with a payout of TWD 84,500 (~USD 2,609).

Chen outlasted a field of 98 entries (73 unique) to claim the top prize of TWD 164,231 (~USD 5,068), marking a memorable start to her poker career on home soil.
Japan’s Nanami Okawa finished as the runner-up, earning TWD 115,500 (~USD 3,565), while fellow Japanese player Sumire Uenomachi secured third place with TWD 76,000 (~USD 2,345).

South Korea’s Jaehyoun Ahn, better known on the circuit by his moniker “Spike,” captured his first APT title in Event #18: Turbo – PL Omaha Hi-Lo – Cry Me A River. Ahn, who only began playing in the poker tournament scene in 2024, outlasted a 48-entry field to earn TWD 124,115 (~USD 3,831), doubling his live earnings with what now stands as his biggest career cash.
Japan’s Ryoji Hatanaka finished second, taking home TWD 89,500 (~USD 2,763), while Australia’s John Charles Caridad rounded out the top three with a payout of TWD 57,000 (~USD 1,759).

Taiwan’s Min Yen Tsai captured his first APT title by winning Event #19: Hyper Turbo Home Games – Atomic Pineapple. The local amateur topped a sizable 127-entry field (106 unique) to earn TWD 88,640 (~USD 2,736).
Canada’s Chen Hao Wu secured second place for TWD 60,500 (~USD 1,867), while Japan’s Akira Takasugi rounded out the top three with a payout of TWD 39,500 (~USD 1,219).

The seasoned pro, who boasts over USD 800,000 in live earnings, stayed on course with his winning streak that began at the APT Manila Classic 2025, overcoming a 35-entry field to claim the top prize of TWD 82,511 (~USD 2,547).

Phatsapong makes it two in two years for cashes at APT Taipei
Thailand’s Phatsapong Thokaew made a successful return to APT Taipei, capturing his first APT title in Event #22: Super Hyper Turbo. Thokaew, who previously finished runner-up in the Mystery Bounty event at APT Taipei 2024, navigated through an 83-entry field (79 unique) to finally clinch his maiden trophy and TWD 145,226 (~USD 4,482) in winnings.
Taiwan’s Yao-Cheng Wang finished second, collecting TWD 104,000 (~USD 3,209), while the Philippines’ Kevin Hendry secured third place with a payout of TWD 68,000 (~USD 2,098).
