TAIPEI, TAIWAN, APRIL 29, 2025– South Korea’s Chang Hwan Lee made his mark in APT Taipei 2025 by capturing the title in Event #42: High Roller – Ultra Stack. Lee, who crossed over USD 500,000 in live earnings with this victory, outlasted a record-breaking 354-entry field to claim his first major trophy outside of South Korea along with a career-best TWD 4,465,700 (~USD 137,951) payout.
The High Roller - Ultra Stack event this series set new benchmarks for the APT New Era, generating a record-breaking prize pool of TWD 22,939,200 (~USD 707,062) — more than double the previous best set at the APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024. All previous records for entries, total prize pool, and first-place prize for a High Roller Ultra Stack event were shattered.
Meanwhile, Ireland’s Gary Thompson finished second, taking home TWD 2,840,000 (~USD 87,654), while Hong Kong’s Jie Zhang secured the final podium position with a third-place finish worth TWD 2,129,000 (~USD 65,716).

Ma Breaks Through for First APT Title in Event #52: NL Hold’em – Freezeout
Ma ends his APT title duct with a victory in the Freezeout event
Hong Kong’s Chun Yu Ma finally put an end to his long pursuit of an APT title, taking down Event #52: NL Hold’em – Freezeout in a field packed with 296 entries. With over USD 150,000 in live earnings and several close calls on previous tours, the seasoned pro clinched his breakthrough victory and the top prize of TWD 835,300 (~USD 25,791).
In a rare sweep, the top three spots were all claimed by Hong Kong players. Hon Leung Ip earned the runner-up prize of TWD 823,000 (~USD 25,370), while Tsz Fung Lo took third for TWD 485,000 (~USD 14,969), completing an all-Hong Kong podium finish.

Feng Crowned Inaugural Champion in Record-Breaking Women’s Main Event
Feng wins the first Women's Main Event run in the APT New Era
Taiwan’s Yi Ping Feng made history at APT Taipei 2025 by winning the very first Women’s Main Event ever held in the APT New Era. Not only did Feng secure her maiden APT title, she also registered her first-ever cash on the tour. For her efforts, she walked away with TWD 537,600 (~USD 16,592) and earned a coveted seat to the upcoming Women’s Championship at the APT Championship in November.
The tournament drew 127 entries and generated a prize pool of TWD 2,133,600 (~USD 65,848), setting an APT New Era record for both the largest prize pool and first-place payout in a women’s tournament.
Taiwan’s Yu Hsi Lin finished runner-up, earning TWD 362,500 (~USD 11,188), while Thailand’s Rannara Thanaboonpamorn rounded out the podium with a third-place finish worth TWD 236,000 (~USD 7,284).

United Kingdom’s Qibang Cheung continued his dominant run in the mixed games arena by capturing his second APT title of the series in Event #54: Dealer’s Choice Masters. Having already secured his first APT title in Event #40: Big "O" Masters – PL Omaha Hi-Lo – 5 Card, Cheung added another trophy to his collection after navigating a tough 23-entry field. The mixed games specialist earned TWD 292,520 (~USD 9,029) for this victory.
Japan’s Daiki Aoki finished runner-up and collected TWD 194,500 (~USD 6,006), while Finland’s Riku Matias Koivurinne secured the final podium spot with a third-place finish worth TWD 125,000 (~USD 3,858). Hong Kong’s Yun Lam Kevin Choi rounded out the money with a fourth-place result, taking home TWD 83,500 (~USD 2,578).

Atinan Scores First APT Title in Event #55: Turbo – High Roller
Atinan first success on the APT circuit is a sweet one
Thailand’s Atinan Tranarungroj made a debut to remember at APT Taipei 2025, winning Event #55: Turbo – High Roller for his first-ever APT title and cash. The Thai amateur outlasted a competitive 69-entry field to claim the top prize of TWD 608,060 (~USD 18,765).
South Korea’s Hyun Sup Kim took second place, earning TWD 438,000 (~USD 13,518), while Japan’s TWD 285,000 (~USD 8,796) secured the final spot on the podium with a third-place finish worth TWD 285,000.

Switzerland’s Martin Schamaun added another victory to his poker résumé with a trophy in Event #56: PL Omaha Hi-Lo – 5 Card (Big O). Schamaun outlasted a 57-entry field to earn TWD 211,395 (~USD 6,523) and his first APT title. The win also pushed his total live earnings past the USD 300,000 mark.
Schamaun’s win came just one day after making the final table of Event #40: Big “O” Masters – PL Omaha Hi-Lo – 5 Card. Taiwan’s Yu Cheng Tai finished runner-up for TWD 153,000 (~USD 4,722), while Australia’s Jie Chen secured third place and rounded out the podium with a TWD 99,000 (~USD 3,055) payout.

Koide Triumphs in Event #57: NL Hold’em Heads Up for First APT Title
Koide proves himself unbeatable when it comes to heads up
Japan’s Yu Koide claimed his maiden APT title in Event #57: NL Hold’em Heads Up, outlasting a 32-player field in the bracket-style showdown format. Koide's victory also marked the biggest cash of his career, as he walked away with **TWD 170,112 (~USD 5,252) ** after proving undisputed in one-on-one matchups.
Taiwan’s Chung Tang Lin finished runner-up, collecting TWD 106,900 (~USD 3,299) after falling just short in the final duel. The two semifinalists — Chun-Yao Hou (Taiwan) and King Chun Horace Leung (Hong Kong) — each earned TWD 59,500 (~USD 1,837) for their third and fourth place finishes respectively.

Wang takes home the biggest score of his career in the High Roller - Mystery Bounty event
Taiwan’s Shun-Ping Wang continued his strong run at APT Taipei 2025, capturing his second APT title in less than a week with victory in Event #58: Single Day High Roller – Mystery Bounty. Following up on his earlier success in Event #32: Turbo – High Roller, Wang bested a stacked 189-entry field to earn his biggest live cash to-date.
Wang secured TWD 1,428,180 (~USD 44,078) in prize money and added TWD 880,000 (~USD 27,160) in bounties for a total payout of TWD 2,308,180 (~USD 71,238).
South Korean and former Starcraft Pro Jinho “YellOw” Hong finished second, earning a combined total of TWD 1,204,000 (~USD 37,160), while Taiwan’s Kuan Han Lee rounded out the podium, collecting TWD 943,500 (~USD 29,121) in total winnings.
The event also set new in-country records for entries and overall prize pool (including bounties) for a Single Day High Roller – Mystery Bounty tournament.

Cooper's collection of APT trophies grows ever larger with every series he attends
Veteran British pro Craig Anthony Cooper added yet another trophy to his illustrious APT résumé by winning Event #59: Limit Triple Draw – Lowball Mix. Cooper, who has a long history of cashes and final table appearances on the APT circuit, secured his eighth APT title after navigating a 55-entry field, taking home TWD 116,517 (~USD 3,595) after an ICM deal was made at heads up.
Singapore’s Chongwei Liao posted a strong showing, finishing runner-up and earning TWD 116,500 (~USD 3,595) after the previously-mentioned ICM deal was made. United Kingdom’s Chun Sang Ma rounded out the podium with a third-place finish, worth TWD 63,000 (~USD 1,944).

Malaysia’s Liew Kai Sheng captured his maiden APT title in impressive fashion, outlasting a massive 487-entry field in Event #60: NL Hold’em at APT Taipei 2025. After navigating one of the largest turnouts of the series, Liew agreed to an even heads-up chop with Hong Kong’s Kai San Ko, leaving TWD 30,000 and the trophy to play for — which he clinched to take home a total payout of TWD 645,055 (~USD 19,906).
Ko settled for second place and collected TWD 615,000 (~USD 18,981), while Macau’s Rogerio Wong rounded out the podium with a third-place finish worth TWD 348,000 (~USD 10,741).

After registering two cashes earlier in the series, the Thai amateur finally took home a trophy and TWD 57,522 (~USD 1,775) after topping a 70-entry field.

Japan’s Kosuke Miyoshi captured his first-ever APT title by taking down Event #65: Super Hyper Turbo – Bomb Pot. Miyoshi, who came close to reaching the final table of the Main Event at the APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024 finishing 11th, outlasted a 67-entry field to pocket TWD 124,821 (~USD 3,851) and his first APT trophy.
It was an all-Japanese affair at the top of the podium, with Ryosuke Ikari finishing second for TWD 90,000 (~USD 2,778), and Seiha Haruki rounding out the podium in third place for TWD 58,500 (~USD 1,805).
