TAIPEI, TAIWAN, APRIL 25, 2025– Indonesia’s Alfie Poetra kicked off APT Taipei 2025 in style by securing his second APT title by taking down Event #4: Single Day High Roller. A well-travelled figure on the world poker circuit and ranked third on Indonesia’s all-time money list, Poetra showcased the experience and composure of some of the best in world poker, beating out the 85-entry field (66 unique).
His victory, worth TWD 1,212,400 (~USD 37,419), marks his first APT title since 2018, as well the first high roller event of the APT Taipei 2025 series.
Local pro Chih Wei Fan, gunning for his third APT title, settled for second place and a payout of TWD 861,500 (~USD 26,588), while fellow Taiwanese player Meng Ling Lin rounded out the top three with TWD 564,000 (~USD 17,407).

Ueda Wins First APT Title in Event #2: Women’s Event
Ueda only recently joined the poker circuit two years ago
Japan’s Marina Ueda broke through with her maiden APT title in Event #2: Women’s Event, the first of daily women-only events throughout the series, outlasting a competitive field of 135 entries (109 unique) to take home TWD 92,043 (~USD 2,840). Joining the competitive poker circuit just two years ago, Ueda has started her series well on the APT Taipei 2025 stage.
Taiwan’s Caixin Wong finished in second place, earning TWD 61,500 (~USD 1,897), while fellow Taiwanese player Ying Yi Wu claimed third for TWD 40,500 (~USD 1,250).

Hatano Claims Second APT Title in Event #3: PL Omaha Hi-Lo – 5 Card (Big O)
Hatano kicks off his series with a dream start
Japan’s Sosuke Hatano kicked off his APT Taipei 2025 campaign by taking down Event #3: PL Omaha Hi-Lo – 5 Card (Big O) for his second APT title. The mixed games specialist outlasted a 33-entry field to win TWD 150,886 (~USD 4,657), adding to his first title in the same festival last year
Taiwan’s Yu Cheng Tai put in a strong performance to finish second, pocketing TWD 104,000 (~USD 3,209), while fellow countryman Sin Ren Chen secured third place for TWD 66,500 (~USD 2,052).

Spencer Secures Second APT Title in Event #5: Limit Triple Draw – Lowball Mix
Poker veteran David Spencer from Canada makes his mark on the APT circuit after six years
Canada’s David Spencer returned to the APT circuit in style, capturing his second career APT title in Event #5: Limit Triple Draw – Lowball Mix. A mixed games specialist, Spencer bested a 47-entry field to take home TWD 121,415 (~USD 3,746), his first APT victory since his 2019 triumph at APT Taiwan.
South Korea’s Dong Soo Han finished in second place with a payout of TWD 87,500 (~USD 2,700), while Taiwan’s Li Ta Hsu, seeking to add to his exer-expanding trophy cabinet, rounded out the top three with TWD 56,000 (~USD 1,728).

Tony Khoang Captures Third APT Title in Event #6: Turbo – PL Omaha High – Double Board – Bomb Pot
Khoang's win streak on the APT circuit extends with his third APT title in two festivals
The Netherlands’ Tony Khoang continued his strong form on the APT circuit with a commanding victory in Event #6: Turbo – PL Omaha High – Double Board – Bomb Pot. The mixed games specialist topped a 53-entry field to claim the top prize of TWD 136,116 (~USD 4,200), securing his third APT title following his double win at the APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024.
Taiwan’s Cheng Hao Chan earned the runner-up payout of TWD 99,000 (~USD 3,055), while Japan’s Kitajima Hayato finished third, collecting TWD 63,000 (~USD 1,944).

Japan’s Hirotaka Fukatsu secured his very first APT title in Event #7: Turbo – High Roller, rising above a 34-entry field to clinch the top prize of TWD 380,660 (~USD 11,752). The amateur’s win marks a breakthrough moment in his competitive poker journey.
Taiwan’s Wei-Hsiang Wang finished in second place, earning TWD 262,000 (~USD 8,086), while the United Kingdom’s Matthew Paul Belcher rounded out the podium with a TWD 167,000 (~USD 5,154) payout.

RIsing star Daniel Yang makes his mark on the APT circuit
Taiwan’s Daniel Yang Shiang-An captured his first APT title in Event #8: Hyper Turbo Home Games – NL Hold’em – Rivers. The fast-rising Taiwanese pro, who only began playing competitive poker in 2024 and has already accumulated over USD 239,000 in live cashes., topped a 58-entry field to earn TWD 48,918 (~USD 1,510).
Japan’s Miyu Watanabe secured the runner-up spot and took home TWD 35,000 (~USD 1,080), while Lin Po-Jung of Taiwan rounded out the top three with a payout of TWD 22,500 (~USD 694).

Wakayama adds his first APT title to his poker career
Japan’s Yuya Wakayama earned his first-ever APT title in Event #9: Hyper Turbo – No Limit – Dealer’s Choice Stud. The Japanese amateur topped a compact but competitive 18-entry field, taking home TWD 48,205 (~USD 1,488).
Hong Kong’s Chi Ho Kevin Tse finished in second place, earning TWD 32,500 (~USD 1,003), while Keita Yamashiro of Japan secured third place with a payout of TWD 20,500 (~USD 633).

Do Brings Home First APT Title in Event #10: Hyper Turbo – High Roller
Do's first APT title is also his first career victory
Vietnam’s Quang Thai Do made his mark on the APT high roller stage by clinching his first APT title and first recorded cash outside of his home country in Event #10: Hyper Turbo – High Roller. Do outlasted a tough 34-entry field to secure the top prize of TWD 270,900 (~USD 8,361).
Taiwan’s Neven Chang, Natural8 ambassador and regular fixture at APT tournaments, finished as runner-up and collected TWD 187,500 (~USD 5,787). Fellow Taiwanese player Chia Shan Tsao placed third, earning TWD 119,500 (~USD 3,689).

Shin's first victory is also her first live cash
Taiwan’s I Lin Shin made a memorable debut on the APT stage by winning her first-ever recorded cash and APT title in one swoop. She emerged victorious in Event #11: Super Hyper Turbo, besting a 50-entry field to take home TWD 100,516 (~USD 3,102) in winnings.
Macau’s Iat Man Leong finished in second place and earned TWD 73,000 (~USD 2,253), while fellow Taiwanese player Jenn Kang Chong secured third for TWD 46,500 (~USD 1,434).
