The second and final day of the two-day ₫50,000,000+5,000,000 Event #38 APT High Roller – 8 Max was the highlight of the five remaining Series events left to play out on the final day of the APT Phu Quoc 2023 and did not disappoint.

Just 31 of the initial 102-strong field returned to play for the ₫4,947,000,000 (~$212,720) prize pool.

With only the top 15 positions paying out competition for a place in the hallowed money spots was highly contested.

It was former APT Seoul 2018 Main Event champion Jinwoo Kim who booked the win, defeating Vietnam's Ngoc Minh Le after a back-and-fourth two-and-a-half 40-minute level long heads-up battle.

Kim came into the confrontation with the chip lead and a stack of 6-million to Le's 4-million, but it was not plain sailing for the former APT champion with his Vietnamese opponent battling back to take the lead.

However, Kim showed his mettle and remained calm and composed to grind Le back down and retake the lead before flopping a straight and firing all three streets to close out the win and claim his second APT title – as well as the tasty ₫1,263,940,000 (~$54,350) top prize.

A disappointed Le had to settle for the ₫870,670,000 (~$37,440) on offer for second place.

Japan's Yamamoto Kazuo rounded out the winner's triumvirate, banking ₫571,380,000 (~$24,570) for third, with the final table paying out as follows:
