Getting to the table and former APT Main Event Champion Hai Nam Hoang had moved all in for his last 132,000 chips. He was called by Daiki Shingae in the big blind and the the cards were revealed.

The board ran out 6 3 9 4 4 and with that Hoang becomes the final player to be eliminated today in 49th place.

Day 2 of the APT Summer Series, Da Nang Main Event is in the books with 48 players surviving the day who will all come back tomorrow to play out Day 3. The day started with the 270 players that brought stacks through the initial four opening flights plus a further 27 entries that were recorded before play kicked off today to make a total of 297 players.

The total number of entries rose to 675 which created a tour prize pool record in Vietnam of VND 20,624,625,000 (~USD $867k) with the winner taking home a juicy VND 3,935,285,000 (~$165,280).

Daiki Shingae was the man to bring through the biggest stack, just as he did in the APT Summer Series Hanoi Main Event, and bagged up 1,725,000 chips. Shingae's only APT cash was in that very event where he finished in sixteenth for VND 156,200,000.

In second is Thailand's Chumphon Naisanthat who brought through an impressive stack of 1,322,000. Naisanthat has one APT final table in his career which came earlier in this series when he finished sixth in a Turbo event for VND 32,450,000.

Hong Nguyen Dang Lam

Vietnam's own Hong Nguyen Dang Lam finished with 1,284,000 chips which was good for third in the leaderboard. Lam scooped a huge pot during level fifteen when her pocket jacks found a set on the river to eliminate both Quang Minh Nguyen and Ratheshan Kulenthirarasa who had pocket kings and pocket queens respectively. She picked up more chips when she hit a flush holding queen-five and eliminated Jun Weng who was holding a lower flush with nine-seven.

Gavin Flynn bagged up 1,059,000 and was one of only seven players to break the one million chip milestone. Flynn was four APT titles to his name including one coming right here in Da Nang earlier in the series when he took down the Single Day High Roller event for VND 458,320,000.

Joshua Mccully has been running hot all series after winning the Superstar Challenge and the Single Day High Roller - 40M Bounty - Winner Takes All tournament. The Australian managed to find a bag for Day 3 and brings through 532,000 with him as he seeks a hat-trick of trophies for the series and fourth APT title overall.

Hai Nam Hoang

There were three former Main Event champions in the field at the start of the day but they had all been eliminated by the close of play. Michael Lindstrom, Vamerdino Magsakay, and Hai Nam Hoang all fell short of Day 3 with Hoang finishing in 49th after his ace-queen lost a flip to chip leader Shingae's pocket tens.

Other notables to make it through were Yu-Chung Chang (946,000), Junichi Nakagiri (885,000), Quan Qiu (842,000), Yingrui Ge (670,000), Kyle Bao (507,000), Anuj Yadav (325,000), and Amit Kaushik (252,000).

Junichi Nakagiri opened up to 24,000 and Victor Em shoved all in for 167,000. Quan Qiu then cold-called the shove and Nakagiri got out of the way.

Qiu's sixed managed to stay ahead as the board ran out 8 9 4 8 4 to eliminate Em.

We got to table when all of the chips had gone in on a flop of 5 3 2 between Nguyen Van Viet and Joshua Mccully.

It was instant service on the turn for Viet when the 9 came giving him the flush. An inconsequential 6 came on the river and Viet had won around about a 600,000 chip pot. Although Mccully takes a big hit there, he still has around 350,000 chips.

Yohei Kitazato

Yohei Kitazato has just eliminated Terry Yan from the Main Event to bring us down to our final seven tables.

Yan held J K and Kitazato had A Q with all the money going in pre-flop. Yan wouldn't be able to get there as the board ran out 8 2 9 9 2 which kept Kitazato in the lead with his ace high.

Sorakit Saengcharuem had opened the action before Tri Lam, Quan Qiu and Kajormnut Prirungrueng moved all in, Saengcharuem eventually folded and it was Lam and Prirungrueng who were at risk at being eliminated from the tournament.

The flop came Q K 9 and although Qiu had flopped a set he didn't have the win locked up yet. The turn 3 and river 2 secured the double knockout for Qiu as he adds to his stacks in the final level of the day.

Chan Chon shoved all in pre-flop for 143,000 and was put at risk by Matthew Bevin who called from the big blind.

Bevin was behind and stayed there throughout the hand as the board ran 8 9 2 6 9 to give Chon a much-needed double up.

Ming Huang opened to 22,000 from the button and was called by both Shixiang Khoo and Gavin Flynn from the blinds.

All three players saw a flop of T 4 6 which Khoo and Flynn both checked and Huang continued for 36,000. Khoo and Flynn both called again and they saw a turn card.

On the T turn the action checked all the way through and they each saw a free river card.

The Q landed on the river with Khoo checking for a third time and Flynn sizing up a bet of 87,000 and dropping it into the pot. Huang had a decision to make and used some extra time to while contemplating what to do. Eventually, he did put in calling chips and Khoo quickly folded.

Flynn rolled over T 7 for turned trips which were good for the pot as Huang mucked his hand.

Vamerdino Magsakay

Heng Zhang raised to 22,000 and was called by Matthew Bevin in the small blind. Vamerdino Magsakay seemed to have found a perfect squeeze spot as he moved all in for about 200,000. Zhang folded but Bevin called to try and eliminate Magsakay.

Magsakay again needed a lot of help to stay alive in the tournament. When the flop came 2 T 4 it looked like he had got the help he needed, a 3 turn and a Q meant that in the end that Magsakay and Bevin both hit flush and split up Zhang's chips.

Nguyren Doan Hieu raised to 20,000 in early position and got 3-bet by Frederic Bolliet to 45,000. Hieu checked Bolliet's stack before putting in the call.

The flop came 3 5 6 and Hieu checked it over to Bolliet who continued with a down-bet of 30,000. Hieu took his time whilst again checking Boilliet's remaining chips. Eventually he put in the call.

The 8 on the turn was checked by both players. A J on the river and Hieu took the initiative by firing out 100,000. This was met by a snap fold by Bolliet.
